The Hyperspeed Series includes a fleet of vehicles inspired by the vehicles and spacecraft from Disney and Pixar's Lightyear. These toys represent cool spaceships, ground vehicles and pods, including Buzz Lightyear's speedy XL rocket ships and each comes with a small character figure to pilot the way to adventure. The vehicles are approximately 6 inches long with fold out landing gear! The figures are approximately 1.5 inches tall with movable joints to let them to sit in the cockpit. The series includes vehicles and figures of both heroes and foes, for recreating Lightyear storylines and simulating exciting battle play! The vehicles include movie-accurate decoration and detail. Bought this for my Grandson and he just loves it!

Good Choice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lightyear XL-09 spaceship is nicely detailed and attractive, and the main part of it looks and feels sturdy.  The cockpit cover, a bit more delicate, can open, and three landing gear wheels can be extended.  The pilot, scaled to the size of the 6-inch-long ship, is only 1 1/4 inches high so pretty small for smaller children.  The figure can bend at the shoulders and hips to fit into the cockpit.  You can stand him up, but a child might need some adult help to make this happen.  The real challenge for the toy designers is that if they had made a larger, more kid-friendly pilot, they'd need a really big spaceship.  Besides the figure being so small, it's a great spaceship for Lightyear fans and collectors.  Just give your kids a clear area to play with the spaceship and pilot, and they'll be happy!  And then they'll probably want to get the other four spaceship+figure sets in the Hyperspeed series.  The bottom of the spaceship has a round hole, maybe to mount it on a display stand, but sticking the ship on the end of a pencil or a pen works fine too.  Overall, 5 stars for older kids and adults; 4 stars for younger kids.

Landing gear was very hard to pull down the first few times, but seemed very durable/sturdy. The little pilot doesn't fit too well in the cockpit but with a little time and adjustments he was able to fit.

Great Toy

Perfect size!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My youngest son has always been a Toy Story fan, and that continued with the release of the Lightyear this summer.  He has slowly been collecting all the new toys from the movie and this quickly become a favorite.  He loves using it to fly Buzz around the living room.

Great addition for a Toy Story fan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this for my 6 year old and he was super excited about it. He loves space ships and little figures. He plays with it everyday. Surprisingly the little figure is still around too. This is his fave tot right now. The landing wheels come out of it and the figure fits perfectly in the cockpit. This is a win in my house. Small but great.

Small but awesome!

The idea of ​​putting the character's doll together with the spaceship is sensational, which enriches the children's games. But I think it's risky that it's for 4 years, maybe for 5 years it's more suitable. The cockpit is very detailed but deserved to be painted on the dashboard.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's an awesome toy! It's cool the way that you can open the cockpit and remove the astronaut it is a really neat feature. It's a small compact toy, but it's loads of fun. My son loves this toy and plays with it all the time.

Super cool

The little buzz that comes with it is really small so I can see that coming up missing really quick.  I do wish that it did something but so far it keeps his attention for a few minutes at a time.

Little Guy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I personally love the airplane wish you couldn't take out the pilot. He is so tiny and was easily lost within a few hours. Overall the plane is well made and can be entertaining for children with great imagination. My son has been flying the buzz plane everyday and his sister's have been fighting over it.
