Price

This was excellently packaged and is living up to all our hopes.  We have always had a chest freezer and have missed that since going full time RV.  We were amazed at how solidly this is built.  We are planning to use it as a freezer on both sides, but it can be used as a refrigerator/freezer if our main fridge should have issues.  So far, we are very impressed with it's quality and would definitely recommend it.

Dual Zone makes this a very flexible and road worthy product.  We started the trip with one side as a freezer, then switched it to fridge temp so the meat could thaw.  Beverages on the other side were cold.  Lid is sturdy enough to stand/sit on.   Not sure what the amp draw was, but it didn't seem to draw much power.

Been wanting a powered cooler for a long time. After extensive research, I've settled on Dometic. Top of the line build and reputation when compared to those other cheapo competitors. It is a very expensive unit but I do not like buying twice. Used it without the protector kit during my first outing with my son to the Colorado mountains. It was nice to have some ice cream during one of our many stops on the trail. Love that things are not wet and that I no longer have to buy ice before heading to the mountains. I have the 95DZ and is plenty for my expeditions. Love that I can monitor my temperatures while on the road. The app is a nice addition to this cooler. A couple of weeks later, I received my protective cover for my 95DZ and it is also a nice addition. I only wished it came with the cooler. How come it is sold together in Australia and we have to buy it separately in the USA? I have the slide on order for the 95DZ but bc of the pandemic, I am still waiting to receive it. This delay is sort of putting one of my extended trips in jeopardy. I already have my platform ready and all I need is the slide. I drive a Tacoma with a SnugTop shell and this cooler stays constant with my set temperatures. The Tacoma has a 120v plug on the back of the bed thus making it easy to keep my ice cream nicely frozen. Would I buy another Dometic? You bet I will but I doubt it this would be not sooner than 5 years because Dometic units are solid and last forever according to my extensive research. If you take care of your investment, it will take care of you for many years. What are you waiting for? Get you a Dometic today!

Awesome unit! Great for my overlanding adventures

I have been looking at getting a fridge/Freezer for a long time for camping and using it sometimes during normal life and finally pulled the trigger on the new CFX395DZ. I am impressed by the size and everything it can hold. It feels like you fill it and it just keeps making more room. I bought it mainly for my new Ram 2500 with a camping shell on the back. Runs off power while driving that I hooked up. I thought to myself when buying, why would I need WiFi or Bluetooth, well now I see its great to monitor all the app does from the cab on long trips and see the temp after I turn it on. I travel to my parents once a month and there are a few things I cant get where I live. This is making it easy never worrying about thawing or not staying cold on the 2 hour trip. Also no more driving all the way home if the girl wants to buy ice cream at the grocery store and we have other stops to make. Takes about 1 hr to get from 77F to 36 or ref temp, and about 2 hours to get to freezing (2 deg F) in my experience using both 120V and 12V. I will update as I go on. Cant wait to use it actually camping and figure out what type of power consumption it truly uses.

So Far So Good Everything and More than Expected

I've had this cooler for 2 weeks. It's a great cooler & worth having. The only draw backs are the flimsy lids. When they are open they are very very weak & can / will break. The app dosent work... But I'm sure that will be fixed. Its an awesome off grid / overlanding / sailing fridge/freezer.

The app is nice.  The short DC cord is a complete joke.  Unit does run very quiet.  I was expecting the lids to be easily reversed but it looks like it will take some disassemble but looks to be doable and not too difficult.  Not a good value overall when you consider that you can get an extra large top of the line refrigerator freezer for a home for the same price or less!!!  Hopefully low energy co sumption and astonishing longevity make it worth the seemingly outrageous price.

Not that impressed with value

It would appear that this cooler does not have sufficient insulation to maintain the proper temperature for food or medicine.  If the cooler is unplugged for more than 15 minutes the interior temperature begins to rise and the contents begin to defrost.  Non-electric (cheaper) coolers maintain the temperature more efficiently than this expensive appliance.
On one occasion, even though the cooler was plugged in, the temperature did not reach the needed temperature.  Was I given a -lemon- cooler or all coolers have this problem?

Unit Does Not Work

I've owned the fridge for a year now. Had to send my first on in because the doors would not snap off without breaking the plastic.

I'm about to send this replacement back because it's performance is just horrible. I have one zone set to 0C, there's ice in one part of the compartment, liquid water in another corner, and stuff at the top is completely unfrozen. The compressor will run for over an hour straight, shut off for 5 minutes, then kick back. Times like these it almost never stops running.

There are also times where it doesn't seem to want to turn on. I'll lower the temperature by 10 degrees and get nothing from the compressor. Even hours later, as the actual temperature in the fridge continues to rise.

I also have issues when setting the temperatures, there's been nights where the noise from the compressor has kept me up to the point where I will raise the set temperature so that the compressor stops trying to cool, but it still does not shut off!
