Lots of parts.  Took a while to put together.  But each piece is labeled and it was not hard.

When I was buying I noticed in the photo on line that one of the drawers was not closing probably.  Thought it odd that they allowed the photo.

Well I have two end drawers that don't close flush.  But not enough to return and wait for a new bench to arrive.

All in all it is a nice looking piece.  Great value.

This Altra Furniture Westbrook 3 Drawer Storage Bench was delivered to me in original packaging cardboard box. It was packed securely and weighs approximately 69.3 lbs. This Westbrook Storage Bench is 41.69 Length - 16.5 Width - 18.31 Height . It states it can hold up to a 240 lb. weight limit .Has three elegant antique finished drawer handles .Instruction manual within box recommends that you check and account that all pieces and parts are within box before starting to assemble, also have at least two people to assemble and also NOT to use power tools in assembly of this Westbrook 3 Drawer Storage Bench . You will need a Flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, and a hammer. *personally I didn't use a hammer * This beautiful bench took two of my sons and 3 1/2 hours to assemble it completely.

Personally I really love this beautiful storage bench. I have received compliments on it every day. I love the storage it gives inside the three drawers and inside the separated cubbyhole square areas underneath each drawer. It has a smooth and elegant look to it and the fact that it is functional as a bench and also storage is a big plus for me. I must be honest, even though the instructions were understandable and easy to follow , I must include that the only true down side to this Westbrook Storage Bench is the fact it does have many various pieces ( numbers + letters for all parts ) , screws of many sizes, wooden ? pegs, different multiple sizes of pieces that have to be assembled and it does take a good while to do so. It was worth it for us, so considering all that I rate this Altra Furniture Westbrook 3 Drawer Storage Bench, Dark Walnut # 5051096PCOM - 4 Stars!

Beautiful & Functional!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say that I am impressed on how nice this bench looks once it is put together. There are a lot of pieces that come with it, 29 pressed wood pieces and 243 pieces of hardware plus spare hardware which was nice. Each piece is labeled so there is no confusion what goes were and I found putting this together by myself and taking my time and some breaks lol, it took around 3 hours to assemble.
The only problem I ran into was after assembly was the 2 outer drawers did not fit flush into the bench. After some looking and studying the unit I realized that the drawer glides mounted on the outer most sides were mounted wrong when mounted according to the directions. You can see in my video how this an be corrected so your drawers will be flush with the bench. This could easily be used as a TV stand or in a entry hallway or bedroom. The back of the bench does have a wood panel covering it however you will see holes in it due to the fact that it has pre-drilled recessed holes for screws so I would say it needs to be up against a wall or at the foot of a bed.
It measures approximately 41 1/2" Long x 18 1/2" Tall x 16 1/2" Deep (front to back). Each drawer inner dimensions measures approximately 14" Deep (front to back) x 10 1/4" Wide x 4" Tall. The manufacturer lists the weight limit for the top of the bench at 240 pounds with the weight limit for each drawer being 20 pounds and each bottom shelf having a weight limit of 30 pounds.
All in all it is a very attractive piece of furniture that is fairly easy to assemble with simply a Philips head and Flat head screwdriver. I did find that a power screw driver came in handy for the longer screws that need to be used however.

Sturdy and Nice Dark Rich Walnut Finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am impressed with the way this furniture assembly kit is put together. I've put together a handful of various pieces of furniture from a kit, and this is by far the clearest. Most impressive is the way each screw, nail, cam lock, etc. comes in an individual bag marked with a number key; in every other kit I've put together, small parts like this come all mixed up in a single bag that I had to separate and identify by the drawing in the instruction manual. Having separate bags, all identified, saved a lot of time and room for error.
That being said, there is a mistake in the instructions on Step 8 (see photo), where parts F & G are transposed. It was easy to figure out there was a mistake before I got too far, and it was easy to correct.
I spent about 5 hours working on the project, and everything seemed to go well until it came to fitting the drawers into the unit. The middle drawer would not slide into place, and the two outer drawers are not flush when closed. I'm thinking I made a mistake somewhere in the assembly, but I needed to step away for a few days so I can look at the problem with fresh eyes. Hopefully, I will be able to correct this issue. If not, there is a toll free number on the instruction booklet that I will call.
The quality of the wood is very nice; I have worked on other pieces where the wood finished flaked off while putting the unit together – this one is pretty solid with an atrractive walnut finish. Each wood part is identified with a lettered label adhered to the piece, which you cross-reference to the part in the instruction booklet. It's best to leave all of the labels on the parts until the project is complete to make it easier later to correct any mistakes.
You will need a philips head screwdriver for all of the screws, but I used a flathead screwdriver for the cam locks. Keep a flashlight handy putting everything together at the end because you will have to see inside the unit.
Once I figure out the problem with the drawers, this storage bench will look very nice in my foyer.

Good Quality Furniture Assembly Kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] “Assembly Required” - I've done that many times over the years but I have to say this bench has more “pieces & parts” than I could have imagined! You WILL want to have an electric screwdriver for this one. Doing it with a manual screwdriver will be taxing to say the least. The parts were all packaged well and everything was clearly labeled. Instructions included are complete and easy to follow. Only drawback, it took over 4 hours for my son in law to assemble it!

Once assembled it is very attractive with a nicely finished dark walnut color. Three “cubby spots” on the lower shelf, where shoes or other items can be stored. Above each cubby is a fairly deep (4 inches deep) drawer for a total of 3 storage drawers. It's actually intended to be used in a hallway or entryway, but for my smaller home entry it's a little too large. It's 42.5 inches long and 17 inches deep and assembled it sits 18.5 inches high. The depth of the seat top is perfect for using it at the foot of my queen sized bed where it fits perfectly and looks beautiful. It provides a nice welcome spot to sit when changing clothes or kicking off my shoes in exchange for a pair of slippers. I'm very pleased with this item and can happily give it 5 stars. I highly recommend this one.

Really Nice Piece of Furniture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Assembly Instructions for the Westbrook Storage Bench, Dark Walnut are a bit confusing, especially on Page 4 and 5 with Illustrations shown that are not quite accurate. But having assembled furniture before, we were able to figure out how to put the Westbrook Storage Bench, Dark Walnut together correctly. Once assembled, it's a very nice Storage Bench where one can sit on Top if needed. It does have a weight limit of 240 pounds for the Top though. There's 3 Cubby Holes on the Bottom (which hold up to 30 lbs each) and above each of those Cubbies there's a Drawer (max load 20 lbs each) which can hold Gloves and Hats, extra Keys and such things needed by the Entry-Door. The Dark Walnut looks elegant and makes a great addition to our tiny Foyer. The only thing we've to do is move some screws back a bit on the 2 outer Drawer-Slots so they can fully slide in like the middle one. Nothing to bothersome and easily fixed. Overall the Westbrook Storage Bench, Dark Walnut makes our tiny Foyer more organized and I would absolutely buy it again if I needed another Storage Bench. My Children also love this new Westbrook Storage Bench, Dark Walnut and each of them claimed their Drawer/Cubby already. This would also make a great Present for someone who's moving into a new Place and needs a Storage Bench.
