The tool was smaller than I expected, which pleased me because i wanted something easy to handle.  I think they must have used models with small hands.
I took it out of the box and figured out all the controls without reading the manual.  After plugging it in and starting it up, It was so quiet, I wasn't sure it was actually turned on.  I had previously purchased an oscillating (vibrating) etching tool at my local hardware store and I have to wear ear-pugs when I use it.  This tool purrs like a kitten.  Of course, it takes some practice and a steady hand to make it work.  I am using it to make patterns and symbols on wooden hiking sticks and it is so much faster and easier than the wood burner I started out with or the oscillating etcher. It has settings 1-5 and I've only used it as high as #3 and it is plenty powerful for my use.  I still take the wood burner and finish the design to give it the dark character want. Read the caution on uses for this tool as it is not suitable for heavy duty cutting.  I used it to cut a hole in a plastic container and the anti-stall feature kicked in, so it does not have a lot of torque.

I bought this to dremel my dog's nails myself at home. Regular sized dremels are too large, heavy and awkward to use as I have small hands. The compact size and light weight of this dremel makes it exceptionally comfortable in my hand and easy to maneuver around the nails. The ‘Whitman's DiamaGroove' nail grinding tool fits on it. It is significantly quieter than my larger dremels. The variable speed allows me to tailor the rate of grinding nicely. The vibration is minimal. The cord can be a bit inconvenient but all the pluses of this fantastic little unit cancel out this one little irritation. My 2 dogs are small (7 pounds) with white nails. They tolerate this dremel very well. I LOVE it and highly recommend it!

Terrific little tool! Once you get a handle on it, it does so much for sculpting and sanding and cleaning.  The fine details are amazing.  You have to be careful at first.  You don't realize how much power this little tool has.  You can sculpt a great deal more and deeper than you think you are.  Take it easy at first.

I bought the 2050-15 to bring a damaged guitar back to life. 
I had used other, larger rotary tools, but I could not get into 
intricate areas of the guitar saddle. The Dremel Stylo did the 
trick in record time. A project that was taking weeks was completed
in 4 hours !

Musician's Friend !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have used the tool a few times, it's great for engraving, and marking items. Works well when working with stencils. I did find the polish feature useful, but occasionally it bogged down a little, but I think that was me pushing it too hard, I'm sure there's a learning curve involved. I need to pick up some more polish. It was easy to hold, easy to maneuver. Has a nice long cord, so that helps. It's lightweight, came with all the attachments I need, and is also interchangeable with those that I have already.

Nice hand held tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this item for a couple of months now and really do love the design of the item. I have a few different versions of the Dremel rotary tool and this one compares to using a pencil almost in your hands. It comes with a very helpful guide on the use of the different tips that come with the kit. I used one of the tips on the recommended settings to etch a glass mug. When using this I felt as if I was using a pencil to draw. It felt very controlled and was very instinctive to use. I also was in the process of building an item that required me to grind down a piece of aluminum. This Dremel handled that with ease. The Dremel Stylo fits very well in my hand and feels like an extension of it. I never had any feeling that it lacked any less power than any of my other Dremel tools. It is awesome for light to medium duty task that require a dremel rotary tool and works very well for craft oriented task that requires more finesse and tactile feeling with your substrate.

Very Intuitive Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 2050-15 Stylo+ Versatile Craft Tool is very easy to use with great results. Its easy to grip and slim enough like a pencil. It is more precise and accurate than other similar products or tools. I had more control over the Stylo and was extremely happy with its outcome. I can see this becoming my go to tool for a variety of projects. Other tools are bulky and create less precision and lack of control. Not the Dremel2050-15 Stylo+ Versatile Craft Tool. I also found the multi-speeds very useful and great for various projects.

Slim and easy to grip and use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Dremel Stylo-Plus 2050-15 is very simple to use and works great.  It can be held like a writing pen or pencil.  Its smaller size and weight make it very easy to handle and provides for comfortable and accurate extended use.  The variable speed from 5,000 to 22,000 RPM makes it smooth and steady for the fine detailed work.  This is an excellent tool for crafts such as engraving, polishing, carving, and sanding.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No its not about Department of Defense. Its about "Dremel on Diet". I have been a huge fan of Dremel rotary tool for long. I have been using Dremel 200 series and Dremel 400 series for about 10 years or so in rotary tool category. Recently I acquired the new Dremel Stylo+ kit. Its very unique piece of rotary tools i have recently seen around. Yes i work in R&D engineering and do get to see all kind of weird ideas and designs, but this one is out there.
I have added 2 pictures with this review which compares the tool with its other version (series 200) in hands of my 10 year daughter, because i wanted to see if she is as comfortable in operating it as much as me.After handling this one, she refuses to go back to bigger size one and i can easily see the reason why?

The Tool:-
Seems to be very nice built. Its got push-on start/off button, and i am always wary of them breaking off or stop working. But i think this one is of higher quality and not a cheap knock-off since the whole tool comes with 2 year warranty. I like this tool for lots of reasons.Few of those are:-

1. This one has a rotary dial for adjusting the speed which is a very nice feature to have for dialing in as per your requirement.
2. Weight is one of the biggest factors. Its way light than its original versions of rotary tools.
3. Its design is very Haptic and ergonomic, which reduces the fatigue in your wrist and fingers after sustained continous use for longer time, because of it is weight compared to the the 200 or 400 series.
4. Handling and using is very comfortable as it fits in the hand just like using pen or marker.
5. It comes with 4 different kinds of engraving/carving bits which i use most and some more accessories which i dont use very often. I tend to use this for lots of grinding, carving and engraving bits and its good to have them provided with the tool so one can get going on the project than looking and buying the accessories when needed.
6. It comes with a chart for recommended usage of the speed and material depending on the kind of material the bit is being used at and the chart is color coded too for different material.

The things i missed in this product/package are:-

1 - The length of the wire/adapter is short. So for the people who like to tinker around with things, can make there own extension, either by using the DC male-female adapter and the wire in between like the ones for LED lights or simply 120v extension cord.
2- I wish there was a box where all the accessories and tool would have a place to stay and not walk away never to be found again.
3- The speed chart would be nice to be of sticker kind which i can stick on to the box or cabinet for easier reference than search for it when needed or google for it.

I bought it about 3 year ago, finally had the chance to use it and after 10 uses the power supply simply quit. No surges, no heavy use, it just quit.
Really disappointed , Loved the size and the versatility though. You need to have replacement power supply that are easy to find and  don't cost more than the tool.
I'm still trying to find one.
