The Dremel Digilab 3D45 Idea Builder 3D printer is one of the best 3D printer options for printing advanced materials such as ECO ABS, Nylon, PETG and PLA. It is also Dremel's best 3D printer for school and university use. With an all-metal 0.4 mm nozzle that heats up to 280°C and a removable glass build plate that heats up to 100°C, the 3D45 is a versatile 3D printer that can print almost any 1.75mm 3D filament with ease. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used many a make and model of 3D printer over the years, but I so appreciate the simplicity of the Dremel 3D45. The slicer is top notch and the machine itself runs like a top. Several hundred jobs in and it still purrs.

I just received my new Dremel 3D45 for my Engineering class and it was so easy to set up and use right out of the box. It is a self-contained unit that required minimal effort to attach the base plate and connect to the internet that I was very appreciative. I had never used a 3D printer before and I was a little apprehensive at first, but Dremel sure did make a quality product that is so easy to set up and use. I was able to start printing within a few minutes of setting up the printer.

Easy to use, right out of the box

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased 2 of these bundles, and we have been quite satisfied with them. There are still occasional issues, but they have been easy to resolve.  The variety of materials has been nice to experiment with as well.  Only dislike i have is that the printhead has to be dismantled to remove or replace the nozzle, while my other printers are replaceable from the outside.

Designed for student use

I see issues people are having that last weeks. Leveling a bed / nozzle issues..

And they waste hours and hours of time and it's constant... they get something fixed and another issue happens.

Great for students!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our engineering program (through PLTW) purchased this 3D printer bundle. I am fairly new to using a 3D printer and Dremel made the process of using and learning so simple! I was printing within a day of setting up everything! I couldn't figure out the cloud part at first, but with Dremel's support, I was able to figure it out and get it working as well! I really like the fact that I can download the app on my phone and if I have to step away from the printer, I can still see what is going on and receive updates.

Ease of use for a new teacher!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned this for about a year now, and it has given me zero issues. I manage a makerspace and regularly use other brands and they do not compare. I bought the Dremel model for my office, on the strength of online reviews, and boy it did not disappoint. Super quiet, super reliable, and prints quality parts. I can seriously count on one hand the number of failed prints from this printer. The smaller sized filament spools might be an issue for some. In the makerspace, we use generic filament so having to buy special filament just for me is sort of a hassle. But even with that, still completely worth it. If you need a quiet reliable printer for a classroom or office setting, I'd recommend this one for sure.

Most reliable 3D printer I've ever used!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have helped purchase over 30 of these for our school district. The cloud slicing software is user friendly and easy to teach others how to use. Both the printer and the cloud software has a lower learning curve compared to most 3D printers out there. The presets and proprietary spools help with consistency in initialization, setup, deployment, and prints. The support that Dremel gives is also top notch. The overall features are very nice (removable build plate, straight forward LCD screen, etc.)

Future Wishlist for the full 5th star:
I would like to see bigger build platforms as an option.
I would like to be able to adjust the print head calibration while mid-print.
More options with regards to cloud slicing. (type of supports: grid,lines,zigzag,etc., .05 layer height preset, etc)
Faster heat-up time. 
Readily available replacement parts and videos on how to replace those parts. 
More enterprise wide settings for larger organizations (printer/user management)
Cloud printing does not record prints made locally as total hours printed. 

The wish list above was made smaller for brevity and I would rate this 4.5 if I could since most of these are smaller wishes. Overall a great product with great support. Hopefully still being worked on and upgraded for future purchases.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased 2 of these for our makerspace in Allegany County, MD  - they were easy to set up and did a fantastic job while we were printing PPE's during the first few months of the Covid shutdown in early 2020. Customer service was very helpful when one of the stepper motors needed repaired from simply being overused.

Easy to use and reliable

A really great single filament printer.  No software to design anything to print.  Leasons are NOT about learning to design or print.  The there are 10 leasons (example a tetrahedron die to teach probably, a catapult, and trebuchet to assemble, a ruler and blocks to measure).

Do not expect to learn or begin teaching how to design a unique item.  Do not expect to learn about choosing materials.  Do not expect to learn anything about how to use this tool.  Expect to have to buy this product to print STEM items that could easily be purchased or crafted with more time and cost efficient manufacturing methods.
