I use this for my dog's nails and it does a much better job than those advertised as for pets.  Recommend using a diamond grinding head very fine grit and not he sandpaper that comes with it.  It remains cooler versus the sandapaper when doing your pet's nails.

I bought this Dremel to replace another one that is about ten years old. The old one still works but is starting to give me problems. This is one of those tools that you never thought you needed until you get one. Once you get used to having it around you find that you can use it for a thousand tasks around the house.
If you are the handy man, or woman, around your house this little tool will make your life so much easier. Let me suggest that you buy Dremel accessories in kits. Individual accessories are well made but also expensive. It is usually much cheaper to buy larger multi use kits.

Handy!

This tool is exactly what I need to begin my current project, which will be a few pieces of outdoor furniture. The Dremel will allow me to add finishing touches that would make the furniture unique. I especially like the cordless (portability).

Ive been a dog groomer for 25 years and have always used dremel for filing nails. They have always held up, I just ordered another one for my house.

This  tool works better than I expected.  Very easy to operate and charge.

I do landscape work and sharpened ALL my tools with my new Dremel 7700 7.2v. Hedgers, chainsaws, pruners, & mower blades in no time at all. Best of all I can take it wherever I go
and be ready for most anything. Next I am removing old grout & put in new.

Great all around tool

I am pleased with the 7700, it works great for my model building. I bought it to replace dremel's previous 700 model. I do think the older model was better built. I have had problems with the battery staying locked in place and also the arbor lock is harder to ingage then the older model. But for the price I am very happy with the 7700.

The unit was built well but the lack of control for speed makes it unusable for a lot of task. 
The unit needs to be variable speed instead of just high or low. 
While holding the unit it would sometimes accidentally turn to do the switch his location being so close to the handle.

I found that for the two speeds that it has most small jobs can be done, however I was looking for one that would increase its speed as the power bottom was touched. The speed on this one is set on it's designed speed as you turn on the power.

Being portable is great.

On high the grinding wheel can stop with just a little pressure. It could use more... oomph. Not effective for cutting metal, or even cutting pine wood with the cutting wheel. 

Still, I love sharpening my knives with it and the Dremel brand accessories outperform the cheap ones from china. For example, the sander falls off the cheap one, but the Dremel one stays nice and taut. This Dremel would be good for delicate carving or crafting... also the quick change chuck should be standard with every Dremel. Get yourself one for sure! 

This Dremel also sanded out my door jam quite nicely so my doors would close smoothly after I installed a self closing hinge that was thicker than my original hinges. Overall, I think the projects I am doing may be more suited to a higher power Dremel or even a RotoZip. Do I recommend? That is a loaded question, because the answer depends on exactly what project your intricate mind is crafting and with what material. 

YES if you are making mini figurines of Don Quixote and Sancho. NO if you are cutting miles of conduit to make your own screened in porch.

Oof... it could use oomph

Have used this model for years with the only weak link being the battery.  My latest unit showed a quality standard that has declined. The included tools were broken as well as their case. The charger did not function at all. I hope they will fix these issues.
