I like the Dremel rotary tools.  I have had my corded original varibal speed since the late 90's and I wanted to get one that would go anywhere.  The 8220, being battery powered plus stout enough to do the work it was designed to do fits the bill.  Not sure how long the battery will last with a heavy work load but so far so good.  The claim is fast charging so we'll see.

I finally broke down and upgraded my Dremel to the 8220 after my neighbor continually used his to fix stuff we were working on. I am very happy with the battery life & power so i don't have to drag extension cords around anymore. Plus the kit came with almost every attachment I use.

A great versatile tool

I bought this DREMEL to replace a much older model that sadly no longer worked but I had it for over 25 years. I chose to go with the cordless DREMEL and I love it! I especially love that I can STILL use all of the attachments I had from my old DREMEL and it is also MUCH MUCH quieter!!!

The other carving tool I used before this purchase feels like I was doing it with hand tools in comparison. This is one of the best tools

Great Tool

Actually bought this tool to do some modifications to my dentures and was perfect for the job. As an auto mechanic I have need a tool like this many times, glad I finally bought one and being wireless works great !

Does all I expected for home and work

I have wanted a Dremel for a while. The 8220 is easy to use, quick to charge and very versatile. I can't wait to get more accessories for it and maybe some other Dremel tools.

But the cordless grandma for a couple of around the house projects. Have already used it for a couple different tasks. Battery chargers quickly, Ilike the adjustable speedfeature and so far so good…

The perfect tool

I bought this to replace my failing Craftsman corded rotary tool. I opted for the cordless model with an extra battery because of my great success and fondness for my 18v cordless system. I just used it to route the jamb (latch cutout) on my exterior back door that was sticking and the cordless aspect was such a help. Worked well and so far after a month, not a complaint to voice. The device plastic seems cheap but there is no loss of quality and the lightweight aspect is purely a plus.

Great tool

I just purchased the 8220 Dremel Kit, and was checking everything over.  I turned it on, and WOW, it sounds like there is a Grinding wheel Inside of it, instead of a Grinding wheel being attached to it.  Lots of Very Bad sounding noises, coming from the motor.  I have an old corded version, from over 10 years ago, and it doesn't sound anything like this!  Disappointed!
