Great Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hemming is not my favorite activity as it is often hard to get the garment even. This handy gadget makes it so much easier to mark your skirt or slacks! Easy to assemble and sturdy on the floor, it allows you to make chalk marks at regular intervals. Connect the marks, press and hem and the item is even all around. Like a second pair of hands or a dressmaker at your convenience. Folds up. A great gift for anyone who sews!

At Last A Second Pair Of Hands!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seems to be a bit on the light weight side in construction, I wish the base was heavier, as it can be knocked over pretty easily.  However, that is my only complaint with this marker, it is otherwise well-made and easy to use.

Great way to mark hems

I have this item long time ago and I'm so glad that I still find them available as it is a big help in my sewing. It works great and very handy because it's light to carry around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hemming is literally my last favorite step in making a garment so I was hoping this would be my saving grace. I think overall it works in that it gives you something to work off of but I still find myself measuring from my waist and making the marks myself to confirm because the lines aren't entirely clear. However I do think I will be using it often from now on and I'm interested in seeing how well it works for different fabrics and colors.

Works but not ideal

I went to use this for the first time the other day. Easy to assemble, however, the air hose connecting the bulb pump to the chalk unit had a packaging kink. Thus the air force to distribute the chalk was reduced by having to pass through a smaller volume space. I am trying to work out this kink and will try again.

Hopefully, it will work. Concept is good.

The tripod base is a bit flimsy. I was able to put it together easily. Marking the front myself was no problem. Having to twist at the waist to try to mark the back meant that it moved where the bottom of the skirt fell. It was no longer even and just didn't work. I couldn't get to the very back. Spouse tried to help, but he kept twisting the position of the chalk swivel and the feet so that it was sometimes under my feet. Perhaps with a better "assistant" this would not be a problem. But it does have to be right by the fabric to get a visible line as oppose to a blur.
It is better than nothing and chalk can be rubbed out. But, there must be a better solution.

Sort of does the marking

I bought this item because I am short and always need to make hems. It is a flimsy made item and upon inspection, I decided to return it and buy a more substantially made one. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Dritz Deluxe Chalk Hem Marker

This chalk hem marker does not mark at all. Upon close inspection, there doesn't seem to be any connection{a hole) between the chalk holder and the spray nozzle. I am returning this one in exchange for another one.
