I had this exact feeder for over 30 years when the plastic finally cracked and it was no longer useable! Droll Yankee feeders are long lasting and worth the money. The price was less than other sites and it shipped quickly.

I've had 4 birds on the feeder at one time and it held up well. Overall this is a great well made bird feeder. Easy to deposit seed in also.

Birds love it.

Highly recommend!  A lot of thought has gone into this great feeder. Most finch feeders waste more thistle (Nyger) seed than the birds eat, but not this one.  Heavy UV resistant tube with metal top, bottom and perches. Had several blowing thunderstorms, and  seed is still dry.  Liked it so well we ordered another one.  Thank you Droll Yankees!

Best Finch Feeder EVER!

It is sturdy and will hold up well to the weather. I haven't seen a squirrel try to get anything out of it yet. It also looks very nice.

Great Thistle Feeder!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a well built thistle feeder that looks great. The top opens smoothly and stays open for filling. The unit looks good and operates as expected. I like the stay open feature so I don't have to fight with the lid while filling, or remove it and have to find it after filling.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tired of buying bird food that the 'wrong' birds are feasting upon? Then it's time to feed those you want to attract. Small beaked birds and finches love nyjer & thistle seed that allow small port feeders to dispense the seed. That process prohibits large beaks from accessing the port, thus no seeds for them. And when it's time to clean the feeder, the metal top and bottom allow quick disassembly, while at the same time preventing any squirrel damage. The clear plastic is UV coated which prevents sun deterioration over time. The perches themselves are of durable metal that will not easily break. I plan to add one of the bottom seed trays so that the larger birds loitering under the feeder don't continue to make a mess of things waiting for fallen seeds.

An excellent option for feeding finches

Perfect except I may have to drill the holes out a bit bigger. Takes birds forever to retrieve the nyjer seeds.

Mostly Good Finch Feeder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The holes on this feeder are way too small.Don't buy the seed catcher that attaches to the bottom. It fills up so quickly that it doesn't do any good. Am figuring out how to drill larger holes and make it more usable.
