This scent is fantastic! I'm not a fan of the heavy scents, where you feel like a drowned rat carrying a knapsack down a peat trail with more threatening rain ahead. Not this stuff! This is a light citrus smell, that's reminiscent of a clear morning hike in the Maine or Pacific Northwest wilderness. The air will smell fresher, birds will chirp, eagles with scream as you sip your coffee; wondering where you are, but it beats being cooped up in an office all day. If you are in an office all day, this stuff will help you daydream about your next adventure in Duke Cannon country.

I read the reviews from others that had purchased this scent. I was sceptical. But with a last name of Birch I couldn't pass it up! I LOVE THIS STUFF! And so does my girlfriend, which is the best part! Right? It's strange that it really has an off scent when you open the tin and take a whiff. But when you put it on it reacts with your body chemicals and just becomes the manliest, sexiest aroma you can imagine! I'm not talking like your DRAKKAR sexy... I mean REAL MANLY MUSKY NATURAL WOODSY sexy! I hope this stuff never goes away.

Smell like a man!

This cologne is amazing. My wife loves it. This and the Bourbon are my favorites and honestly if you use a little of both it creates one of the best smells either side of the Mississippi.

Glorious

Birchwood is a nice mix of A landscape scent mixed with some light citrus. It's a very light but manly scent. Wouldn't mind some stronger notes even a little bergamot or Amber. However it's fresh mix and different scent.

New and different

To be honest the concept of solid cologne took a bit to get used to.  But now that I have used it a few weeks I'm addicted to the ease of application and my day feels wrong without the woodsy pleasant scent on me.  Looking forward to trying some of the other scents once I finish the first tin, whenever that is.  Not sure how solid a business model is when all your products last so long.

Like memories of forests you've never visited!

This scent isnt for everyone but if you are looking for something masculine and light, this would be it. It does have a sweet-like scent in the beginning and will slowly fade into the birch. I was a little nervous it would smell too strongly but it doesnt. Over all it is very unique which i find appealing.

Not your average cologne

Too bad this is a limited run. I'd say this sent ranks up near the bourbon scented solid cologne. Once they release Leaf and Leather scented solid cologne, it should become my favorite. For now, bourbon is. This one is right behind it. That's not to say it's bad at all. It's not. I'm just ranking the best ones. I've tried a number of scents and they were all good and I enjoy each of them from time to time.

Second best until Leaf and Leather comes out.

I have several of Dukes solid colognes, soaps and other fine products - and I'm a big fan.  I've never met a duke cannon scent that I didn't like, until now.  Birchwood isn't for me.  Someone else stated it smelled like butter in the reviews, I would echo that.  I've tried it on several times and I just can't get behind this one.  That being said I've seen plenty of other reviews of people really enjoying this, so I would say different scents for different folks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Smells woodsy but after awhile, really starts to smell like vanilla. Do wish the cologne was a little stronger smelling. On the plus side, this will last me forever. This solid cologne is very solid unlike some of the other brands I've tried that were more like balm you rub on.

Solid start

Really don't like the way it smells. I bought it because I like their other scents, but this one is not good. I put it on one day and waited to see if it would grow on me. It only grew worse, I couldn't shower it off fast enough. But their customer service is superb. They took care of the issue quickly and efficiently. I will continue to buy from Duke Cannon as their service is superior to others.
