I loved that the back had texture to it, growing up the books my dad had for dnd did not have texture. The map was huge compared tow what I was expecting- just one page not even covering the full page- it unfolds and is roughly close to the size of the book.

Awesome dnd book

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's been awhile since I have been a DM, but going through this new manual has helped me with getting back into the game. A lot of good information to have in the toolbox, like handling player conflicts and simple XP system helped me brush up on DMing. I didn't really look too much into the sample adventures since my table wanted to try some of the older AL modules.

The artwork was nice to look at, the tables were nice and neat, and overall I'm satisfied.

A Solid Book for Beginners and Returning Players

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Arrived in great condition. Love the art and the new manner of formatting. There are admittedly a few details that I dislike, like the lack of details for Downtime Activities. Apparently, you are meant to still use the rules in Xanathar's Guide to Everything for that still. Conversely, I love the new rules for Bastions and think they're a great expansion for 5e. Though, I would have liked if they were a bit less limited in size. There's also a bit of information on crafting that you need to refer to the new Player's Handbook for as well, specifically in at least the case of Spell Scrolls off the too of my head.

Overall, I generally love this new book and think it offers some great tips and resources, but there are still a fee areas that it doesn't cover that do make it a little inconvenient to cover every base on a purely 5e 2024 ruleset basis. Of course, if you're using this book, you likely are getting the new Player's Handbook anyway, but I felt that was worth noting, especially so in the case of Xanathar's Guide still being a required expansion to complete the ruleset triad for several things.

Awesome Product, but does have some distinct holes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Better than the old one

New and Improved

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy to have the newest version of this

Good purchase

great book!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do not personally know about DND, My daughter liked the book!

DND fans

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been playing D%26D in one form other another since 1977. My last campaign, 50 players online using a VTT, was using the 2014 version of the 5e books. New start and my players only had access to the 2024 version of the rulebooks so time to upgrade.

If you are a new DM I think the book does a really good job of walking you through both the mechanics of running a game and/or campaign and the things you should be thinking about behind the scenes. The old DM guide was more of a reference for things you already knew about.

Couple of new rulesets that look interesting in fold into my current campaign; bastions for one looks like it will be a hit with the players. There are sections on Greyhawk (not a huge fan ) as a beginning campaign world but I think they got kind of caught out on the popularity of Baldur's Gate as Forgotten Realms would have been a more popular starting realm. Though one of the advantages of Greyhawk is that it is kind of easy to adapt it to your own world.

The art style is cohesive and does a good job of illustrating the concepts while also providing some visual references to different D%26D worlds.

Overall I am please with the content and execution of the material.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a gift they loved it I personally think it's a little too expensive but if it's something someone likes it's well worth the smile

I love this game and that no matter who owns the rights to this material always keep physical material copys for use. In this game.
