I like the clean look of clear glass in my cabinet.  Plus, no more glazed dishes.  I don't know what is under the glaze of most dishes.  If the internet can be trusted in this case, here is what I found "How is Duralex safe? Duralex glassware is lead free and non-leaching. It is completely hygenic as it doesn't absorb any liquids. Duralex is also safe in the event of strong shock; the glass would break into small pieces rather than jagged shards." I added the ? at end of my title as you have to do your own research.  These dishes are durable...not likely to easily break.
