If you have kids, or take less skilled people fishing from time to time.
This is the reel to get. Rear drag is much easier for novice fisherman/
The added bonus of instant spool removal is a plus as well.
I can't speak as to the pre spooled line, I would use at your own risk.
For the price of a "star bucks" I mean come on.

Small but powerful. Needed something small and quick for some fast action trout fishing in a particular region where fly fishing isn't feasible but powerful enough to reel them in. This little beauty does it and without bird nesting. Even looks good while doing it. Restored my faith in the Shakespeare brand.

I love Shakespeare rods and reels. In my price range they are the absolute best.  They are always smooth and reel up with no knots. And I have been looking for a red reel for a while so I am thrilled.

I love Shakespeare reels

I replaced a cheap Okuma with this reel on my telescoping rod while traveling, the Okuma was a 2000 series and just couldn't handle the species I was fishing for.  I took the line that it came with off as soon as I got it home and spooled it with 30lb braid. Took it out the last few days with a variety of lipped and lipless cranks and have been slaying bass, HUGE bass, bigger than anything I've ever caught in my home state. The reel handled them all perfectly even if my rod is undersized, making it an awkward experience.

It works really well. And the price is perfect.

I bought two reels, give the Walmart RD 30 a try, it's smooth and response well.

Nice reel

Seems smooth, haven't used yet.  Reinforcing what some others have said, I got a grey one, not red as shown in the first pic.  That's fine with me, matches the rod better anyway.  Also as some others have noted, it came with no crank arm.  That's  no good.  I was able to borrow one from another reel.

First it came without the spinner so had to buy another one and second it a peace of garbage the line that came in it was soooo bad . I understand why the reel was $15 u get what u pay for o guess
