I thought that I was getting a red reel but ended up getting a Grey one instead but it matched my rod perfectly and fit nicely,  it was delayed a little bit but no problem only a day and for my surprise it already had 8lb test line on it I am very satisfied with the reel and the price

So far so good, not sure of drag yet, but i did land small fish ok , waiting for a big fish to see how it works.

This is the fifth real I have bought. They are great reels even for big fish. The only problem is a couple of months after it is new the pushbutton tends to hang up and not release the line for casting.  I haven't been able to repair that problem once it starts. Then I just go buy another one it cost very little and is fooled up with good line and is ready to go right out of the package ...

Works well

The rating of my review is keeping in mind this is a $7 reel. I bought it for my son who is just learning to fish and still has a tendency to be some'at abusive of things. I had none of the problems reported by others. I DO expect a new item to at least work, even for less than $10 and considering that it met my needs and expectations. I can't say how long it will hold up but #3 son still gets easily bored and was hauling his line in and recasting as often, long and hard as he could manage to get away with. It kept reeling in and going out and will still do so. #3 son even managed to catch a nice striped bass on the thing and it held up fine even so.

So remembering the look on his face when he pulled in that fish, there's no question I have got my money's worth from this reel even should it pack it in today. I will likely upgrade a bit when this reel packs it in as it sounds it's sure to. Might be the luck of the draw that this one worked at all. But, considering our experience with it, I would still recommend it for a child or beginner.
As a final note, it's deep dark red makes it right 'purty'!

keep in mind this thing is really CHEAP!

I purchased 2 of these for my kids fishing rods. They do not work. Even when they catch small fish they are unable to retrieve them because they keep spinning and nothing happens.

Not a good purchase

Fell apart on my first cast. Like, in multiple pieces and I had to put it all back together. Came apart several more times during our trip and tangled multiple times. Do yourself a favor and buy the Zebco 33 MAX instead. Its not much more expensive and its a way better option.l if you're on a budget.

Absolute TRASH. Waste of money. DO NOT BUY!

Tangled up behind repair on first cast. When I opened the reel i discovered it was all mangled inside. Have to try to return or exchange it.

I caught a 4 pound catfish on this 8 pound line and it kept reversing back out into the lake I ended up having to pull the line in with my hands TERRIBLE

Terrible

I really did not expect much from this cheap reel. However I did expect it to at least cast and reel. Unfortunately it would do neither from the beginning. It is a pretty reel but that is all it had going for it.

Absolutely perfect at being junk.
