I purchased this product about a month ago. The barn needed a new thermometer because some of us couldn't read our horses temperatures accurately in dim barn light. The digital thermometer is great - lightweight, fast and easy to read! One suggestion - a rope or some type of chain at the end would be very handy!

I tried this thermometer after trying 4 different "human" digital thermometers - and none of those gave an accurate temp when compared to a traditional glass thermometer. This one did give an accurate temp and it's fast (great if you have a fractious horse).

Accurate & inexpensive

I haven't actually had to use this yet, I ordered it to round out my first aid kit. The price was right, and looks very easy to use (a lot easier than my people themometer!). I am pleased with my purchase.

Very handy! Every barn should have one. Displays temperature in 60 seconds, which is very nice. The only thing I wish it had was a chain/rope at the end.

and for the cost and value each barn should have multiple. Simple, easy to use and read. Accurate and elimantes the guess work of the old fashion thermometers.

Every barn should have at least one

This is a basic thermometer at a reasonable price. It would be nice if there was a way to attach a string at the end so it is easier to remove when using!

Good value

This thermometer seems fine, except there is no place to attach a string. I'm hesitant to use it when I'm not sure I'll be able to remove it! But return shipping costs more than the thermometer, so I guess I'll keep it.

Needs Hole at the End!

Both thermometers (the original & the replacement) were extremely slow. The original one never beeped when done; the replacement at least beeped, but it took well over a minute before stopping on a final reading. It seems maybe the batteries are old.

Extremely slow

I bought this thermometer because I wanted something that was specifically to keep in the barn for my horses when needed.  I used this once and it worked great and provided an accurate reading.  I then went to use it two days later and it wouldn't even turn on.  I will be inquiring about refund/exchange.

Stopped working after one use.

Cannot rely on the readings. Gives different answer every time, and sometimes just L appears.
