Last one I had lasted 18 years.  Very good product and American made!!!

this was OEM winch for Rolls Axle trailers. I don't recall when it started rusting. But after 15 years it needed replacement.

I use it on a saltwater use boat trailer....the strap gets wet with saltwater which will accelerate the corrosion process...rinse the winch after each use if that is the case.
