This set is very clean and sleek looking. It is NOT white, as it looks on the picture, but more of a cream/ off white color. The bowls are wide and somewhat shallow. The pieces are very heavy, and the box it comes in is extremely heavy, I was unable to lift it, so if you're able to, definitely have it shipped to your home. It was a great purchase and well worth the money!

I read other reviews that complained about black ink stains and broken pieces. I did notice my box was double packed and the outer box wasn't tight which the fedex guy said shouldn't be that way, but never-the-less, nothing was broken (the inside box was packed well). As for black smudges, there was one serving bowl that had 2 little black smudges, which I tried to get off with alcohol and nail polish remover and it didn't come off - looks like it could be baked in. However, it really doesn't bother me. The color was fine. Not quite bright white, but they match my white bowl I already have just fine (they are not a light tan. They are much lighter than that.). My husband did remark that the bottom edges were a little rough - as though unfinished, but my thinking is that with use, they'll soften up. The salt and pepper shaker weren't my taste, so I'll be giving those away, but for the price- with 45 pieces - I thought it was a beautiful set. The dishes look beautiful in my cabinet stacked, and when served with food actually on them, looked like nice quality pieces. Almost makes my cooking look gourmet (which it isn't)! Humor aside, I do think it's a beautiful set and I'm hoping the porcelain is more durable then the stoneware I've been using. I've already put steak on them (which obviously I used my knife on the plate), and they held up - no scratches. Soo - I don't know if the manufacturer read previous reviews and improved their product or what, but I am very pleased with the look - the set looks beautiful and classy. I wanted a set of 12 on the dishes and bowls, so I actually ordered one set of 45 and another set of 19. This gave me a set of 12 on just the items that I need more of.

Very nice set for the price

I had read some of the previous reviews and here is my rating:

5 STARS for Product arriving AHEAD of schedule.
5 STARS for Product Quality. The china is heavy like a stoneware.
5 STARS for Product looking like the original picture.

I will comment on one thing: This product was shipped using SITE TO STORE. A word to the wise. OPEN the box at the Walmart store before SIGNING for it. This unit was shipped in original packing box, not a box within a box from the shipper warehouse. HAD there been any breakage, you can refuse the package at SITE TO STORE, and avoid having to go to Customer Service to do a refund. Just be careful. I ordered two sets, one for me and one as a wedding gift, and I AM LUCKY that with the way it's packed, and the condition of the box was received (as if it had been dragged down an airport conveyor belt) that I RECEIVED EVERYTHING IN ONE PIECE, and NOT SHATTERED. Who does that????? That's my only gripe.

Other than that... Beautiful. Exactly what I was expecting.

Over and Beyond My Expectations

I had previously bought a set of these in white and ended up giving them away to someone after years of use. This time I purchased the orange set. It's very sturdy, a bit on the heavy side, but they do hold up well. In a household with 4 children, we needed something that was going to be a little more rugged. This is it. I love how this set has everything... Aside from the dishes, mugs, plates, it also has the serving bowls and platters along with salt and pepper shakers and sugar and cream dispenser too. It's a great deal, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Sturdy dinnerware set

Was hesitant at first due to people stating some glassware were broken upon delivery but other than that nice product... so i ordered mine with a store pick-up and opened it before I left the store. Some bowls and plates did have some rough bottom edges but nothing a little sand paper couldn't handle yes it took some of my time but worth the price for this style and its fuctionality. Plus I did not want it scratch my wooden table! As for people stating product cracked in microwave; I have not had that problem. I've owned my set for 7 months now. I think they are possibly placing a a cold plate from fridge into microwave which in my experience with most glassware will break. Rule is pull your cold plate from fridge and transport cold food to another room temperature plate then microwave. You wouldn't put a cold plate into hot steaming water and vice versa?!  Anyways, my husband and others state my regular plain cooked meals look likes a chefs plate as it displays nicely.  :D
Plus there are so many entertainment serving dish you can buy that would go with this set! AGAIN GREAT PRODUCT FOR GREAT PRICE! You just have to get it/buy it damaged free!  :/ Would've given it 5 stars if I didn't have to sand bottom edges.

Great Price!

This table setting looks great. This set brings a festive and beautiful atmosphere to each meal. The plates are heavy for everyday use. That would be the only drawback. I purchased a set each of the red and the white for color contrast. I like the effect.

Make your meal festive

Took 17 days for site to store delivery instead of the '7-10' I was quoted. When I got them home a cup was chipped and the creamer thing was broken and had nothing wrapping it to protect it. The dishes are what I expected and are very nice. I just know that replacing those two pieces will be a nightmare because let's face it...it's walmart! They are such a good deal that even though it has been/will be a hassle, i would still recommend them if you are willing to deal with all that. Wish me luck

Nice looking but broken

I didn't expect an expensive looking set so when I saw it I was very happy. No it's not a great looking set but it is definitely very nice. I even received compliments on it and those that saw the set say its looks expensive. Yes, it will chip as all dishes will if you drop it or bang it against something but mine has not yet. Overall, it was worth the money I paid for it and I really enjoy the look of it along with the salt and pepper shaker and the serving dish that came with it.

Although I love the pieces that come with this set, upon opening my box I discovered a broken plate. There is a note in the box that asks you to send details if any pieces are broken so that you dont need to return the entire heaaaavvvy box. I was going to do that, however- I noticed that a lot of the plates did not have a clear surface, there were ceramic specs on it that gave it a (chicken pox) look, and most of the dinner plates had swirls/lumps in the center of them. I decided to return the set to a local Walmart and try my luck again. I have reordered the set based on all the good reviews I saw on Amazon and Walmart. If it is just as bad this time, I will surely write another review. The pros of this set are that: All pieces say oven safe on them, the white color is nice, it comes with great pieces, delivery was fast. The cons: Verrry heavy, easily broken, unclear surface.

Yup,it's chalky in the bottom...stained my wooden dining table,scratch it as well when I accidentally moved the plate.texture on the bottom part of the dishes are very different from the top,it's rough and edges are sharp.very heavy and hard to carry or wash manually.
