I have used my hover 3 times now its great suction    easy to empty  but I do feel that the tube  where you hold on to isnt as sturdy as i would like it feels like it will break with some pressure  I hope it won't as ive paid £339.89 for it   but im happy with the suction and movability it has  kind regards Chris owen

Great suction but doesn't feel sturdy

Bought this recently due to my old DC04 getting tired (still works) and my V8 cordless runtime is too short and not powerful enough for the dog hairs. It is a great lightweight vacuum and has a good suction. Can't comment on the equipment for stairs as I don't have any. My mother is 87 and she finds it easy to use. However, she is fit and healthy for her age.

Great Vacuum

I was told how good the Dyson name was and as for this vacuum cleaner, well it has made light work of my dirty carpets. Can only highly recommend it and I'm not usually one of these people who review goods purchased. I've also just recently purchased the Vax Platinum Power Max carpet washer. Who needs a new carpet now. After we cleaned the carpet it looked brand new...

The Dyson Ball Animal Two..

Two years of use later, this Animal Ball 2 continues to amaze! With 3 types of flooring(carpet, ceramic tile and hardwood) this vacuum adjusts to the floor type and picks up everything ... especially the very fine dust... I had no idea I lived in such a dusty environment until using this technology. Cord length is appropriate and easily stored. Canister removal and cleaning is easily done ... I use a old clean soft bristle paint brush or compressed air to gently clean the canister components... and compressed air to clean the paper filter in the ball...the removable "tube" filter is cleaned under lukewarm running water...the accompanying attachments allow for cleaning in hard to reach places(as does the expandable hose)...this unit has exceeded my expectations. The "rotating brush cutoff" switch is a definite asset for tile and hardwood floors. Ingenuity, innovation, and user friendliness combined in one!

Then... there was One!

Other than being a bit heavy, I have no complaints whatsoever. This vacuum is amazing. After vacuuming with it, I feel like my house was never actually clean. You go over something once and see the difference right away. Would very much recommend this vacuum to anyone.

Amazing!

Over all a good machine however I have listed below my opinion of the positives and negatives for this model.

Positives:

Very good suction/Good length on wand/Roller ball on handle top makes manoeuvring easier/Removal and empting of bin is very straight forward and effective/Better quality filters than previous model/Design of accessory holder much better than previous model, clip hold is a great idea/ Good balance when moving cylinder across the floor/Overall carrying weight of machine is light in comparison to the power of the machine/Product is compact and neat for storage.

Negatives:

Brush bar head is to small, I preferred the size used in previous model/Cylinder does not move freely when on a carpeted floor, I feel you need to use to much force to move it around the floor/When machine is in the storage position the carrying handle is obstructed by the wand/When using the large suction control cleaning head I find the head very hard to manoeuvre around the floor. Even when I reduced the suction on the cleaner head I found it quite difficult to manoeuvre around and under furniture. I found the force required to manoeuvre this head made my wrists sore after a short spell of use. Perhaps when using this head a ball movement between the wand and cleaner head would improve its mobility. I found using this tool very cumbersome./Length of electric cable is bit on the short side especially when cleaning hall, stair and landing areas.



Overall I found this model to be of good quality and most of the modifications have made an improvement on the previous model. However I am a bit disappointed with the large cleaner heads ease of use and the cylinders ability to move freely on carpet.



I would definatley recommend this hoover to pet owners as the suction is excellent

My Experience as a tester

I bought this vacuum last year and have enjoyed using it with minimal fuss. However, one design flaw is that ever time I empty the cylinder I have to clean out the input connect between the housing and the hose end. This restricted part of the system continually gets blocked with dog hair and causes loss of suction. Apart from this design flaw the vacuum works effectively. Good vacuum, poor design flaw

I have used this cleaner for 2 years now and it is the most annoying product I have had. I have used many dysons before. The weight is good. The tools are good. The extension hose great to get to my tall ceilings. But the product blocks with fluff and dusty after nearly every use. I spend more time with it on its side than upright. Even took it to a dyson repair shop for a clean out. A big weakness in what should have been a good machine

Keeps blocking

I bought this few months ago. Very first day I was so happy with it but as soon as I started to use it, the machine gets full so easily just after cleaning 2 rooms and then we have to clean it after every use. In roller brush hair get stuck so badly that it's hard to take them out and in brush head it's akwyas a struggle to let that work properly, third head which I use is leg cleaner in the beginning that work perfect but that has lost all its power now. Not collecting per hairs at all. 

The biggest issue is noise as well it makes so much noise like it's sucking everything but it's totally opposite. 

I would not recommend it at all. So much price and performance 0.

Disappointed with the purchase

Bought this in February, the brush head stopped working after 2 weeks so asked dyson for another one, after a few messages of them telling me that the filters or pipes might be blocked (they wasn't) they agreed to send me another brush head. 

Oh & the felt has fallen off of the large connection. This has stopped working again. This dyson just doesn't pick up hair on carpet. It's ok on wooden floors. Not happy as it's not a cheap hoover ☹️
