just used my new Dyson, suction as always, superb, although I must say the little knobs for 'on/off' and 'cord retract' seem to be quite fragile as on my old machine, you just used your foot to press on/off/retract cord, I guess it's something I will get used to, but overall I really like this little machine.

Really pleased and used on hard floors and carpet. I bought cylinder vacuum cleaner and it bounces back if tipples over. I like the idea that you can choose length of the telescopic tube so that you are cleaning NOT leaning in awkward position which is ideal if you have back problems. Nice looking machine and super easy for storage. Registration on line very easy for 5 year guarantee.

Excellent Machine

very good and powerful machine even on the carpet which get D on carpet is still more poweful and can clean the carpet very well.

On the hard floor that get A is too far more powerful so I have to use only minimum level.

As soon as got Home couldn't wait to try well what can I say Another excellent one from Mr Dyson.Easy to assemble, beautiful looking and a nice size.i am very very pleased as I have a pug which sheads a lot of hair.I couldn't believe how clean my house is no hair at all.It makes life a lot easier now as I'm not sneezing (because of all hair around house) this is perfect (No hair now) I highly recommend it to all.The tools are excellent I'm spoilt for choice.A big thank you to all at dyson from one happy customer:-)

Powerful awesome hoover

Strongly advise this vacuum cleaner. I am a die hard Dyson fan and nothing compares to these beautiful design and intelligent cleaning power. "with out hearts we are mere machines" they have a heart.

Dyson Big Ball Animal

It was a great pleasure to use this product. We have been using a DC 54 for last 2 years. It has been an excellent product but we always felt that the opening and closing of the apparatus was quite cumbersome. But with this new Dyson Big Ball Animal that hurdle has been done with. This one is far easier to open and close. The clear bin is larger in size, so more dust can be collected and we have to empty the bin less frequently during a routine cleaning. Suction is excellent. We wish the bin would have been bit more larger so that we could empty it only once after the complete cleaning of the house. I do not know how easy it would easy to clean the filter as we have not done it yet. We feel Dyson should supply a narrow, long brush to clear off the dust from inside of the clear bin. Over all a fantastic product.

An excellent vacuum cleaner

I'm leaving this review after 5 1/2 years of owning this canister vacuum. I have hardwood floors and cats so I immediately bought the articulating hard floor device to use. Between their hair and litter, this vacuum is a lifesaver. I use it every day, empty it when full, and bought an extra filter to swap out in between washings. The suction on this is great and not having to buy bags or filters is a major plus. However, today it didn't turn on. I tried other outlets and it is dead. Just like that. Since my warranty of 5 years expired, and I already have all the attachments, I decided to repurchase the same vacuum because for me this is a no-brainer. I just hope this next one lasts longer because this little baby isn't cheap.

Great Vacuum

Have had this machine for several weeks now and find it has both good and bad points (mostly good). We have timber, tiled and carpeted floors with a selection of large rugs and those natural cotton mats that collect dirt and water etc at external doors.The suction is tremendous, the multifloor head tends to stick and lift carpets and rugs at any setting above the minimum and cleans rugs and solid floors well. The spinning brush head really tackles the dirt on the carpets and works well even on longer pile carpets, but does require a lot of effort to push on deeper pile rugs and carpets but gives a good finish. I have used the animal head to great effect on the stairs, the machine fitting well on our stairs which are a reasonable depth. I like the way it rolls back upright but have to be careful to manouver around furniture to avoid knocking into table legs etc. Cannot use it at all on the entrance mats etc as it either picks them up or snags on them. The weight of the machine is OK for me but my wife who has a neck and shoulder problem has found it very difficult to use due to its weight and power (she much prefers to use the DC59). Emptying the dust container is much better now  as it cleans down the inside of the unit (left lots of fluff behind on the mesh to start off with but after some use now clears it OK). The accessory connectors are much improved and easier to use. Would recommend this for someone with a stromg arm.

Powerful Machine

Overall I loved it. 

Foot control to switch on and off and to recall the lead is fab and so convenient. No more winding the lead round and round.

Picks up perffectly.

Very easy to empty pretty much just press a button.

Downside is that the ball seems quite heavy to lift maybe as so compact. However once in use it glides on the floor and you don't feel the weight at all.

Thought it seemed big to store but once I tried it in my cupboard it fitted easily.

Overall an excellent buy.
