Effective on low-pile, but struggles with deeper piles.

Really pleased and used on hard floors and carpet. I bought cylinder vacuum cleaner and it bounces back if tipples over. I like the idea that you can choose length of the telescopic tube so that you are cleaning NOT leaning in awkward position which is ideal if you have back problems. Nice looking machine and super easy for storage. Registration on line very easy for 5 year guarantee.

just used my new Dyson, suction as always, superb, although I must say the little knobs for 'on/off' and 'cord retract' seem to be quite fragile as on my old machine, you just used your foot to press on/off/retract cord, I guess it's something I will get used to, but overall I really like this little machine.

As soon as got Home couldn't wait to try well what can I say Another excellent one from Mr Dyson.Easy to assemble, beautiful looking and a nice size.i am very very pleased as I have a pug which sheads a lot of hair.I couldn't believe how clean my house is no hair at all.It makes life a lot easier now as I'm not sneezing (because of all hair around house) this is perfect (No hair now) I highly recommend it to all.The tools are excellent I'm spoilt for choice.A big thank you to all at dyson from one happy customer:-)

Powerful awesome hoover

very good and powerful machine even on the carpet which get D on carpet is still more poweful and can clean the carpet very well.

On the hard floor that get A is too far more powerful so I have to use only minimum level.

Strongly advise this vacuum cleaner. I am a die hard Dyson fan and nothing compares to these beautiful design and intelligent cleaning power. "with out hearts we are mere machines" they have a heart.

I bought a Dyson big ball multi floor model and I love it! Very powerful complete equipment for home and pneumatic brush is very efficient for carpet. Finally finished with the dust bags! Good quality product that will last for several years

The quintessence of the vacuum cleaner

As is standard with all Dyson products, this is an incredibly well-designed machine. When you get a Dyson you know that you're getting a vacuum that was thoughtfully engineered by people who obsess over the details and are building products to last.



This vacuum is replacing a Dyson DC33 that is 5 years old and still rocking like it was the day I bought it. Why replace a perfectly good vacuum? Our home as large number of tough-to-reach places (nooks, crannies, tight corners, underneath beds, below couches, dining room chairs, on and on...) that an upright simply cannot get to. The result was a half-clean home that required twice as many vacuuming sessions and a lot more effort to get what these canister units can do in a single pass.



The first time I fired this thing up and took it for a spin, I was reaching places that had never been touched before. Watching the canister fill rapidly (without losing any suction, of course) with all kinds of dust and dirt made me realize that I really needed a vacuum with this kind of flexibility long ago.



The amount of suction on this thing is insane. It is very apparent on carpet and rugs that it is getting very deep and pulling out every last speck of dust. I was actually amazed by how powerful it is. It leaves those "freshly cleaned" lines that are so satisfying.



Then there's the fact that the canister rights itself when it gets knocked over thanks to the big ball - so awesome. It dutifully follows you around and you never have to worry about it getting stuck. There are also less parts and things to clean (one canister, one filter - that's it). Coming from an upright, the fact that the power cord retracts into the unit is also a welcome addition. Again, superior design and engineering at work all around.



It does take a few sessions to convert your brain from using an upright to a canister, but in the end it is so much better. I don't have a single negative thing to say about this unit. The only improvement I could want would be a cordless option. Some day, I'm sure.



Bottom line: My wife remarked for a few days after the initial use that she couldn't believe how much cleaner the house was. It was indeed the deepest clean we've ever had.

The Deepest Clean We've Ever Had

I'm leaving this review after 5 1/2 years of owning this canister vacuum. I have hardwood floors and cats so I immediately bought the articulating hard floor device to use. Between their hair and litter, this vacuum is a lifesaver. I use it every day, empty it when full, and bought an extra filter to swap out in between washings. The suction on this is great and not having to buy bags or filters is a major plus. However, today it didn't turn on. I tried other outlets and it is dead. Just like that. Since my warranty of 5 years expired, and I already have all the attachments, I decided to repurchase the same vacuum because for me this is a no-brainer. I just hope this next one lasts longer because this little baby isn't cheap.

Great Vacuum

Have had this machine for several weeks now and find it has both good and bad points (mostly good). We have timber, tiled and carpeted floors with a selection of large rugs and those natural cotton mats that collect dirt and water etc at external doors.The suction is tremendous, the multifloor head tends to stick and lift carpets and rugs at any setting above the minimum and cleans rugs and solid floors well. The spinning brush head really tackles the dirt on the carpets and works well even on longer pile carpets, but does require a lot of effort to push on deeper pile rugs and carpets but gives a good finish. I have used the animal head to great effect on the stairs, the machine fitting well on our stairs which are a reasonable depth. I like the way it rolls back upright but have to be careful to manouver around furniture to avoid knocking into table legs etc. Cannot use it at all on the entrance mats etc as it either picks them up or snags on them. The weight of the machine is OK for me but my wife who has a neck and shoulder problem has found it very difficult to use due to its weight and power (she much prefers to use the DC59). Emptying the dust container is much better now  as it cleans down the inside of the unit (left lots of fluff behind on the mesh to start off with but after some use now clears it OK). The accessory connectors are much improved and easier to use. Would recommend this for someone with a stromg arm.

Not very happy with this machine this is my third dyson I have had the up right and canister before loved both of them this one is cheap and no power head like the other ones no good on carpet
