I purchased my Next Gen about 2 weeks ago. The green light technology was an eye opener. The hard floor head is quiet and does a great job of picking up the dog hair and dirt. I like the auto setting for suction based on need. Not having a trigger is awesome since my hands are too big for my previous 8 Dyson. I ended up cracking the housing over time due to lack of space for my hand. I highly recommend the Next Gen.

I bought the Gen5detect last month and I am totally satisfied with this product! It sucks very well, no longer having to pull the trigger all the time to suck is very convenient. I have 2 cats and this vacuum cleaner allows me to remove hair easily. It’s a bit heavier than the V11 Absolute Extra, but I greatly prefer the Gen5detect capabilities.

Great efficiency!

I am 79 years old. I no longer wanted to vacuum stairs while balancing a canister vac and dealing with its power cord. I got tired of replacing it's different filters. I chose this model because of its washable filter that filters to 0.1 microns and has a switch rather than a trigger. Some reviews say that it is difficult to use because of the weight at the top. I don't find it difficult to use or balance. I can vacuum one floor of my house on a charge. Despite having had a very expensive HRPA filter canister vac, I was never able to get the tile and hardwood floors clean. Now there isn't a speck of dirt on them. Vacuuming takes half the time because one sweep removes all the dirt. It's easy to use. Mild exercise.

A game changer

We bought the Dyson Gen5detect Absolute vacuum. It is amazing! This is the second Dyson vacuum we have purchased, and I can't imagine ever buying a different brand.  Although a little heavier than our last cleaner, it is so much easier to use.  The amount of dust the light shows up on the hard floor cleaning head, is scary, but very reassuring to know that it is all picked up.  I couldn't be happier with our purchase.

Awesome cleaner

Both my husband and I love this vacuum, My husband is an engineer and when this arrived he was impressed so impressed at how it works, shows how much dirt and dust it is collecting that he is now doing the vacuuming daily.  I love it because I don't have to do the vacuuming--apparently it is too heavy for me to use.

Great features and suction

I bought my Dyson GEN five about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago and I love it. It works exactly as described. It picks up fine dust which is viable with the green light! There are helpful videos available in case I need instruction for maintaining the vacuum cleaner. I highly recommend this product!

Great suction as promised!

I was superseded how much dirt and fur was left behind using my old vacuum compared to the gen5 the light is insane and I don’t think I’ve used the vacuum so often ever in my life ! The only issue I have is some units are sold with a stand and soeare not, I would hv ourcaed elsewhere had I known. I also find taking the vacuum apart to employ is a little awkward not as easy as I would like, a bit clunky, also I’m 5’6 and I feel
A bit hort for the machine as the nozzle isn’t adjustable

Overall love it

I bought this a couple weeks ago because I needed something that could completely get rid of the dog hair that has been entangled in my Couch fabric and this thing works absolutely amazing. The only thing I don’t like is when it is in “boost “mode it does not last very long the battery dies so soon.

Fantastic except the battery life

Well I have always had Dyson vacuum cleaner and been very happy until buying the Gen5 , the unit is heavy then I expected and disappointed in the attachments how they are situated. I’m finding myself using my original Dyson once I found out I could replace the battery.

Little disappointed in the unit unfortunately

The suction is not nearly as good as I'd hoped, the laser randomly turns off sometimes, the attachment pieces can be very difficult to pull apart and it did not come with a crevice tool! Also there's no where to hang 3 of the attachments on the included plastic wall mount. This is a very poorly thought out piece of crap. Do not buy!
