Replaced my 10-15 year-old battery-powered string trimmer with this EGO model. It is amazingly more powerful than the previous one. I have only used it once, and it took less time to edge the yard and remove weeds than the previous trimmer. The battery can be used with the EGO leaf blower I purchased last year. Very happy with this purchase!

I had another electric brand for about 7-10 yrs. I had to lug around a 100' cord which was very bulky and exhausting. I'm a 70 yr old woman and I'm very pleased with my new EGO 56v Trimmer!

I bought this three weeks ago and I am very happy with it and it's performance I'm also surprised with the battery that came with it I finished Edging my backyard And still had plenty of power two bars No problems With the String feed It continued to work Perfectly I will recommend this product to my friends.  Also like the balance Between The motor and the battery I didn't feel any strain on my forearms Or my back While edging.  The 15 inch cutting diameter Is sufficient I could've went bigger And spent a little more money And I'm glad I didn't The variable speed Is great As I get closer to the fencing I can slow down the edger and then on the open areas increase to speed this is great

Great features

I resisted getting a battery trimmer for the longest time, but I'm so glad I can ditch the mixed gas can and the carb rebuild kit. This trimmer is quiet, smokeless and only runs while you pull the trigger to trim with it. Plus my shoulder isn't aggravated anymore from pulling the start cord numerous times trying to start the old trimmer.

BEST part is that it started up FIRST TIME ( not like my gas powered Echo, which is why I went electric). Plenty of power to mow down the toughest weeds. I used my 5.0 battery and it was still going strong when I became worn out and had to quit. Everything worked great.

Good tool.

My gas weed eater died out this season. I decided--with caution--to switch to an electric model. Honestly, I'm very happy that I chose this unit. The obvious perks are that you have instant power, no hearing protection needed, and similar-to-better power than a gas trimmer. It probably takes me about half an hour to trim my property. This unit lasts through that just fine so far, which I hope stays the same over time. It's lighter weight than my old unit. Assembly was straightforward. My only dislike is that the bumper head projects more than what I'm used to. So, if I want to get the strings running horizontal along my surface (rather than at an angle), the face scrapes along the ground a bit. Ultimately, not a deal breaker. Probably just an adjustment period on my end. All in all, I'll keep using this for the foreseeable future, and I may explore the EGO push mowers in the future. I'd love to get away from gas, oil, and sparkplugs if the power is the same. Lastly, I'll say that the price point didn't feel like a hit to the wallet. I don't say that often, but this set seemed priced just right.

First Time Electric Lawn Tool

I didn't think there would be enough power to care of the overgrown area in the back yard. I was pleased at how well I was able to cut down the high grass and weeds. I had no problem increasing the line so that I Could move through the highest portions of the yard. It was light enough to be able to make progress every day without being completely worn out by a heavy string trimmer.

First time battery owned string strimmer.

Cuts well and very powerful. Battery is sufficient capacity to do my yard 3 times. 

The tap function for the automatic feeder works, however, it takes a hard hit on the lawn to activate the auto feed. I'm not sure if this is standard, however, I am mentioning this as I previously had two previous gas powered trimmers with auto feed that did not require such a hard hit to activate.

Works great and gets the job done effortlessly, have to say that I'm pretty impressed with the Ego products. I have leaf blower, whipper snipper and push lawn mower. I was disappointed with the size of the battery that came with the whipper snipper but obviously I'll live with it.

I had to replace my previous ego, same model, because the motor died. Unfortunately you can not replace that motor so the trimmer is useless. This one has a new trimmer "rapid reload Head" that is extremely hard to tap and release more string, it is also very difficult to replace the string, While the instructions show you can just thread in new string without dis assembling the head, I have found that not to be true
