The pic has a shiny, clean look to it/It is not. Looks like I have had it for awhile when it was just put down on the floor. The mildew smell was very strong when first opened so I hung it outside in the sunlight during the day for three days. The mildew odor seems to have gone away and it does feel good to my bare feet. The score may go up as time goes on. If the wool was taken humanely, that matters a lot too and I hope it was.  I also hope that the people who made this rug were treated fairly. I love good wool that doesn't make me itchy. So a big thank you to Walmart if not purchased from a sweat shop and the score will sore!

The rug arrived tightly rolled. When I unfurled it, there were many bulges and the edges were badly curled. I laid it, upside down, between my mattresses and slept on it for 3 days. When I finally moved it to the floor the bulges were still fully apparent, though the edges had flattened. The rug gave off an unpleasant stale odour that, rather than dissipating, soon made the entire room smell of stale fibre. After 2 weeks on the floor it was clear that the bulges were not going to flatten, even though I had spent time every day using my feet to try and smooth out the fibres. I finally decided I needed to return the item, principally as the smell was spoiling my ability to spend time in that room. Very disappointed. I love the colour and pattern and I'm sad that this turned out to be such an inferior product.
