What on earth is going on with the new earth balance?  I've used the organic butter spread for years and all of a sudden it's flaky and won't even spread.  I thought it had been subjected to heat and melted, and then refrigerated again.  Please fix soon

I have used and loved this product for over a decade. I actually preferred it to real butter, and it was always a safe food that I could enjoy without worrying about getting sick. What happened?? The new formula is awful! What used to be an easy to spread, light, and slightly salted creamy flavor now tastes outright RANCID!  I feel nauseous every time I use it. Sorry EB, you've lost a loyal customer!

Do You Not Have Taste Testers??

This was always my favorite butter until something happened. It tastes bad and I don't know why. There is no other butter I like besides that one coconut butter I can't find for years so I've been using this until the taste became bad. Can you please change it back to how it was please. It has never tasted so bad before

I was a very happy customer and only used your product until the recipe changed. It is now horrible tasting. How did anyone approve that change in taste? I would not recommend it to anyone.
Please go back to the original recipe.

What happened to your product.

I wish I could give this ZERO stars. I threw away so many ruined desserts today. I am a small business owner who depended on Earth Balance. I had butter from the  old formula and some from the new formula. Some desserts were fine - some were disgusting. I have been trying to figure out what was making my frosting taste strange. How could you not announce this ?!?!?!??

New formula smells rancid

There is nothing for me to say that hasn't been already reported by numerous users over the past several weeks. Earth Balance is SO very different from the product we have loved for over a decade. It no longer has the texture of butter. It has the texture of a cold candle, or a bar of soap. Question: did the formula change on purpose? Are the engineers and executives actually using the product in their own homes with genuine

Is this even food?

You've got a lot of nerve calling this a “spread” when you changed the formula (deceptively), raised the melting temperature and put your “new” product in the existing packaging.  I'm sure there was some rule that says if a big conglomerate only changes X ingredients by Y% they don't have to tell the customers. I'm throwing THREE tubs of this crumbly mess away - a complete failure disguised as the old product.

What a mess of a formulation change

Horrendous. I used to love this product. I just opened a new container today and they clearly changed the formulation. The spread sat at room temperature for hours and was never soft or spreadable. I feel like I've lost a gem in my vegan cooking. The tast is off, it's flavorless whereas before it used to delight the tongue on warm bread. Just baked biscuits that usually turn out great and a this product ruined it. The biscuits came out oily and disgusting whereas they are usually fluffy and delicious? Who green lighted this? Do they have something out for vegan cooks? Horrendous. Save your money and your frustration.

Inedible

No longer spreadable as of the last few tubs purchased - hard, waxy and crumbly as others have mentioned; tears bread repeatedly. Please bring back the previous formulation. I've used this product for ages and will now be looking for a replacement.  Bummer.

Recent formulation change = not good

I have been using the soy free spread, in my gluten free/dairy free/nut free cooking for years. For the first time, with not having changed a single thing in my recipe or cooking process,  the cookies crumbled at the slightest touch. The cake was dry, and the spread would not combine smoothly in the icing. Whatever was done to change the formulation should be immediately scrapped. I will be looking for something wlse to use going forward.

TERRIBLE!

I have used earth balance buttery spread since it first came on the market in  the late nineties. I  am vegan and   have never used anything else since then. It is absolutely EXCELLENT  and the only spread that tastes like butter.(I have tried others over the years) I prefer it to  trendy  expensive brands like Miyoko's, that's anice spread but it doesn't taste like real butter . please don't change it.
