Awesome shipping, great packaging but with all the 2Cycle nonsense I didn't know if I needed to put in oil prior to using it or does the oil went with fuel, it was a real nerve wrecking event. After researching it for 1 hr came to the conclusion it did not need oil for the engine just the mixture with the fuel. The build was great for the value, well put together and really easy to move around, unfortunately the starting instructions were not included thus another 30 min researching. Finally was able to start it and during the use it was eminent It was plenty powerful, I made 20 holes and even tilled some areas from 6” to 3' deep. Range depends on your adapters, which I used from another auger used to have. It has plenty of power plenty of beef and I'm a 6'3” strong build and had to leave it attached to my hips most of the hole digging. I don't know if I would have handled  the 2 man one by myself this alone was packing a punch.   Looking forward to never again having to mix fuel and gas, buying expensive already mixed fuel and saving your sanity is priceless. Buy already mixed fuel 50:1! Go get them!!!

Used this little guy and was very surprised by its power and digging capabilities. Dug holes for several posts and over 200 seedlings and it's still going strong. Like any post hole auger it does get hung up on stones once in awhile, but it can also get down the full length of the shaft in clay before it starts to bog down. It's a great investment.

This post hole digger is fast at digging holes and is easy to operate. I have used diggers behind tractor and hand held post hold digger's, but they do not compare to this. If you are looking at this one, definitely buy it and you want be disappointed.

Awesome

I had a couple of holes to dig that I didn't want to dig by hand. This tool was well worth the cost and I'll put it to use in the future. Easy to assemble and operate. The tool has good torque but won't throw you across the field. I dug two holes that were 8" wide and 30" deep through sandy soil and then into rock. When I hit the rock, I just pulled up a bit on the tool and then pushed down on it as I went full throttle. It worked great!

Great tool

This was an easy to use and very handy post hole auger. I was replacing a wood board fence that I built 30+ years ago and also adding some new fencing. Since I don't have quite the stamina I had at 25, I thought this would be more helpful than digging all my post holes by hand. The auger was easy to assemble and started easy the first few times I used it. Later, I had to give the throttle a little gas to get it started. This was difficult and likely I need to adjust the idle, but it got me through my last couple uses for this project. The auger did great digging out the old post holes and did just as well digging the new ones. It would cut through most smaller roots. When hitting a heavy root, it will give you quite a jolt, so be prepared. It is a one man machine, and can be handled by someone fit and strong enough with ease. It certainly would be easier with two people, but you can't always find help when you need it. The auger is also fairly easy to tote and carry, which makes it good for any fencing I may need to do away from the house. The post holes I dug were at least 30” deep, so the extension rod was a must and made it much easier to reach the depth I wanted and still easily pull the auger out. All in all a good machine.  I think the extension should have been included. Time will tell how well it will start after sitting in the shed, though I did use only TruFuel in it, so that should help.

Handy and a real work saver.

I think this product is Great, I would have given it a 5 star, but has carb issues from out of the box. When the fuel cap was left tight, it would build pressure and push fuel threw the diaphragm into the cylinder, flooding the engine. I left the fuel cap loose when not using until the carb came in. They promptly sent me a new carb and spark plug, Great service!
The auger runs great and does what it says.

New Carb

Earthquake with 8” auger works well and has about as much power as you would expect. Probably exactly what you would want in a one man unit. A little underpowered for deep holes but workable for most applications. The main con is that the choke lever is located right where you will end up holding the auger when it starts to use more power and your arm will frequently move the choke lever to choke, decreasing the power substantially exactly when you need it. You then have to turn the choke lever back to run before continuing. A small inconvenience but could have been a little better designed. It is perfect for planting items in good ground.

Machine was a champ in moist dirt.  Wyoming clay and compact soil, not so much. Kept riding on the hard surface. Finally cut some notches on the cutter. seemed to help. Still had to chisel out with a Hammer drill to complete several 2-1/2 Ft. holes for fence posts.

Returned and rented a real auger. What a nightmare, was nearly impossible to start and was impossible to keep running.
