The Eclipse™ 5/8" Diameter Room Darkening Rod features a unique bracket design allowing the curtain to wrap around the side of rod to block window sidelight. The wrap around feature also enhances privacy and reduces outside noise and drafts. The oval-shaped brackets conceal the mounting screws when the rod is installed. When installed, the rod projects 3 1/8 inches (8.0 cm) from the wall. The eclipse™ 5/8" Diameter Room Darkening Rod is adjustable to accommodate your window size. We had a similar rod break (mounting piece snapped). This one has a metal piece that attaches to the wall, making it much better quality and more sturdy. That said, it only uses one screw for each side, so you would not want to use these for very heavy curtains.

I love how sturdy it is and they way the curtains wrap all the way around leaving no room for light. I am a light sleeper and any amount of sunlight wakes me up. This has truly made a difference for me.

This was perfect for me, becuase as we were hanging it, we realized that we misjudeged how long we needed it, but we were able to make it work because of the size difference.  It is a pretty rod, and really made our room look good.

Pretty Rod

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hung this curtain rod over my kitchen sink.  It is nice to be able to wrap the curtain around the sides of the rod to make the room darker.  The rod is a nice expresso color and matches my faucet in the kitchen.  the rod was easy to hang up and it is very sturdy.  It would hold a heavy curtain, although the one I hung was very lightwieight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was so easy to install with just a couple of screws in the center of the base versus the difficulty of trying to get a screwdriver around the narrow points of other brands bases! Really helps the complete black out curtains keep out the cold air and noise that usually seeps through out brands!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Eclispe Darkening rod was easy to hang, only one wood screw on each end and it comes with two plastic ribbed screw holders in case it is being hung onto a surface other than wood. The ends are seperate from the rod and have a big hole that fits easily onto the screw and slides down for a secure fit. The rod clicks into place on each end. The easiest rod I've ever hung and very sturdy. Curtains slide nicely around the sides to wall.

Easy to Hang

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This genius invention fits securely along side the window creating a  no show result. These even held up to my heavy, blackout curtains that  reach 62 inches long.  This is literally full proof in installing

Snug as a bug

The screws they provide you with are way too smell to reach a beam through drywall. Get yourself some longer screws and these rods work great. Do not use the plastic studs they provide either. they pull right out of the wall from the weight of the rod. LONGER SCREWS
