This product has a nice, lite, neutral smell that didn't trigger my allergies. The best part is that it left my curls soft and shiny. I did have to scrunch the slight crispies out after my hair dried, but no crunch remained after that.

I use this to help define my natural curls. It does make my hair a bit crunchy, so I usual add an oil to my hair before applying the gel to help soften it. The gel defines my curls really well though. It also keeps it from being frizzy.

If you have curly hair that frizzes, this is the GOAT on day 2 or 3. Lightly it's hair add a tiny amount and you look like you walked out of the salon

Delivers as promised

This gel is excellent for styling hair. I use it daily on my daughter for her curls. It hold  ponytails for a long time, and the scent is neutral—it smell like argan oil!

I am a hair product snob. I love China, who thinks this is one of my staple inexpensive inexpensive hair products that I will always reach for I do have 3 seat curls and I can honestly say that it does not weigh them down and leave them shiny manageable and it does not flake once it's dry.

one of my everyday use gels

Great product for slicking your hair back, moisturizing while holding in place, and it helps your hair grow and thicken.  Especially if you've just shaved your head and are now trying to grow it back.  The other similar products do the same, and I am grateful for its amazing performance!  There is also no white flaking and easy wash out.

other than the great price and light scent, this product helps me control frizz really well. I like to use about a tablespoon applied to damp hair, section it off and "finger twirl" each section. after that i add maybe a teaspoon to my palms and spray it with my leave in conditioner combo and scrunch my curls with it. for reference im a white lady with short naturally curly/wavy hair. when it dries i use a tshirt to scrunch my hair to break the "cast" left on by gel. theres no embarrassing flakes with this. also, your hair needs to be closer to wet than damp when applying this and I always air dry my curls. Ive never been great with a diffuser.

Great tool for curly hair

I purchased this styling gel to comb through my hair in the mornings for easy quick way to tame my bed hair. The gel is convenient and I combined it with a spritz of water and bam easy styling for when I'm heading out to the gym. The flip top provides easy access to your gel and there's no fragrance or odors to accumulate on your hair.

Tame that bed hair in a minute

It's an okay product. Doesn't have a strong hold of hair. My hair is curly, after its styled back in a bun i still have to wear pins because it will not hold my hair back. I do understand that different hair products work differently on every hair but personally for me its a no.

From a lot of the reviews, I was expecting this product to provide a firm hold.  I've sold hair and beauty supplies for a long time, and have used dozens of brands of hair gels.  

I'm finding I am really missing a lot of the products we could get back in the 80s.  If a product said “firm” or “strong” holding on the label- you were truly going to get a *firm* hold.  As in- use too much, and your hair turned into plastic.  And, for some 80s looks, that's the kind of hold we needed, lol.

I guess people now don't need the strong-holding products like we used to use/need.  Come to think of it- gravity-defying hair styles do seem to be rare these days.

I have baby fine hair, with a ton of wispy bits around my hairline.  These become incredibly annoying, as I always have a lot of fans going at once, and the hairs are constantly tickling my cheeks and forehead.  I could use a firm hold hairspray to keep them in place, but thought I would give a new hair gel a try.  This product got good reviews, and had a fantastic price point, so I ordered it.

This product, to someone who remembers those industrial hold 1980s products, is a light to light/medium hold gel.  I tried it on both wet and dry hair, and found I needed to GLOB it on to get *any* hold at all.  And it did hold, but I could tell the product would fail after a few hours, meaning the wispies would break free and start tickling again.  And that is what happened.  Only, it took barely 10 minutes for the “hold” on this product to fail.  I gave up, and used some old reliable strong hold hairspray to hold down those wispy hairs.

If you are looking for a light to light/medium hold gel, this might be the product for you.  It is pleasant to use, with hardly any scent, and you get a ton of product for a few dollars.  If you are looking for all-day hold, however- I would pass on this gel.

The only products that come close to providing the hold I need are Got 2 Be products.  And while I'd rather be using Sebastian's Spritz Forte, or that old reliable aqua blue coloured KMS hair gel, Got 2 Be will have to do.

Uh- “MAX HOLD”?  Barely holds at all.
