My purchase of the EcoFlow River 2 was based on my requirements to add an inverter to an exciting solar setup I currently have in my truck camper. The major use for the inverter was to be able to charge various 12 -18 volt batteries while "off grid". The EcoFlow River 2 has met all my expectations. It is a space save, I was able to eliminate the 650 AH AGM battery and the 40 AMP Solar Controller. Added an XT60 connector to my existing distribution box and used the furnished 12V - XT60 cable. The charge times were tested from mains power and 100W solar panel, charge times were as published. Now I have a lightweight portable power generator that now will get more use. The price point was also something that was considered with my purchase.

Looking for small inverter, found a whole lot more

I did some testing on the device, and it works as well as you'd expect. I tested it by charging phones to how long it would last on keeping my heating blanket on (needed to test this due to my disability). Charging phones will last a very long time as it uses very little voltage, while my heating blanket drained it within 4-6 hours (around 250 watts(not constant, very fluctuating)). I do plan on ordering 2 more of these to help my community to keep both communications and entertainment for a time in case power goes out. This is extremely handy as I lived in texas during the freeze when the power plants collapsed. Very useful for future disasters!

Perfect use for emergencies!

Bought the River 2 mainly so that the grandsons would have an available source to readily charge their phones in their tent when we camp.  It's a convenient, portable, and lightweight. 

The one thing I would have liked is to have a cover over the 12V outlet when not in use, and a dedicated carry case with a shoulder strap for ease of carry.

This thing is great and have in my tool box (industrial mechanic) at work to charge my laptop, phone, work lights, dewalt batteries and run my soldering iron.... no more extention cords since I work at a large facility its great to have this and be portable. It also charges quick and from app you can change from 100w to 360w charging. Compared to a coworkers he bought an inexpensive portable station and his only charges at 60w taking hours to charge, he has to haul a big power supply to charge it

Ecoflow River2 great small portable station

I use this as my backup power for my internet modem and router. We had a really bad storm here in Ohio and the power went out. This portable back up battery generator was able to still provide power for me to be able to see my battery powered wireless cameras! I keep this plugged in 24/7

I got the ecoflow river 2 and the bluetti eb3a and I would say the river 2 wins even tho the bluetti can output more energy. there's really no point in discharging that much energy when the battery is only 267 watt hours unless you have a expansion battery hooked up somehow. I basically use this to run lighting and a couple fans in a shed and the river is perfect for this task. It definitely beats the bluetti when it comes to the app. The bluetti eb3a has Bluetooth but it doesn't have WiFi so you can't control it when you're away from home also you have far more control over your powerstation with the eco flow.

Game Changer. I was reluctant to carry what appeared to be something like a small car battery but IT IS COMPACT (and lightweight, with a carry handle), reliable and easy to use. I could not find a better deal anywhere on the web. The service time-line for this device is remarkable. Benefit over investment ratio was realized the first time I took it out for an all-day aerial photo shoot. (One-hour to charge it first at home before the shoot, but also comes with a car charger that takes a bit longer to fully charge)

I Love this PowerBank

The River 2 is engineered and built to the highest standards for an incredibly low price. I would expect to pay double for this type of quality and performance. The app offers easy control of settings and the ability to check battery status and temperature remotely. I use my River 2 to run a 12 volt fridge with a 100 watt panel mounted to the roof of my truck. I can easily check the battery status wether I'm in a hotel or at a campsite. No connection problems or slow responses whatsoever.  Having the AC power has allowed me to power a 300 watt hot water kettle and a small Dash grill for making breakfast on the road. River 2 is small enough that there is no reason to not keep one in the truck at all times.

Excellent product and an unbelievable price

I bought the Eco Flow River 2 for a few reasons. First the company had a good customer service phone line and great email response too; which Bluetti and a few others did not have. Next, was because of the newer battery chemistry, that gives you a 5 year warranty and over 10 year life.  Comparable units of Jackery and Bluetti were old battery chemistry and only a 2 year warranty. I liked the look of Eco Flow and there charge times on in wall, solar and car; all faster then the other companies. I tested a blender, fan, humidifier, lights and a massage tool; all worked fine. The blender was 300 watts or a little more and it ran fine and the unit said it would run for like a hour or so. You could probably run a small hot cup, hot plate or low watt electric blanket for 1-3 hours if needed; as a comparison for what you may need. Like most new units and companies, you can do pass through charging as you use any device from it. If you want small and need just to run a few lights, charge a phone (charged mine from 69% to full in 40 minutes and used almost no battery %) and small things for camping or emergency; this may be good for you. Dont plan on running wattage like a blender type device for more then an hour; so a heated blanket or similar would need to be around 50 watts or less to run long term. Came quickly and packed excellent too. Fan only goes on when needed and is super quiet and barely gets warm around the unit. Even at regular price around $240 it would be a great deal.

It is a neat little box and easy to use. Rated at 256 watt-hours, I charged it and put a 100 watt incandescent bulb in a lamp and plugged my Kill-A-Watt ( measuring device) into it. I got less than 200 watt-hours out of it before it shut itself off. (The Kill-A-Watt uses the ac to power it, so you lose the reading when the unit shuts off.) It was reading 190  and hadn't reached 200 yet at shutoff. The output voltage stayed nice and stable and the frequency stayed at 60 Hz. until shutoff. It works well other than not making the capacity rating in my "test".  Maybe there is an optimum load for power output, so it could be a little more or less for other loads.

Good box for the most part.

Pros: Its small, have a lot of charging options, and charges very quickly. Works for tv and fan. Great warrnty deal.

Con: Dont hold charge for an hour. No matter what you are charging. I live on a tropical island with a lot of power outage and purchase this for security but was disappointed.
