I was 10 minutes away, the a/c was off, I had just finished a bunch of shopping, and it was hot and humid. I got on my smartphone, used the Ecobee app, turned on the a/c to 70 degrees, and when I arrived home, it was LUSH indoors—I love the thermostat!

This thermostat has a very rich set of options in its installation menu.  The ones I used were:
Temperature on/off threshold
Minimum run time
Extended fan run time after furnace/AC shuts off

It also lets you set as many schedules as you want in a given day as long as they are 30 minutes long.

It does a great job of allowing you to decide if you want to use the automatic features or disable them and set it up the way you want.

All the low level settings I wanted

Does a great job meeting all our needs. We have it at our second home/cottage, and set up its temperature alerts. It saved us one winter when it alerted us about low temperatures in the house, and we were able to get the faulty furnace repaired before any plumbing pipes got frozen and ruptured. Easy voice control with Alexa. The phone app is great and lets us warm the cottage up in the winter or cool it down in the summer before we get there.

Awesome thermostat!

I bought this product because my thermostat was located in direct sunlight, causing false temperature for the rest of the house.  I installed with a sensor in my living room.  Installation and instructions were clear and simple to follow.

Great Thermostat – Easy Install, Clear Instructions

I'm very impressed with this Ecobee thermostat. Installation was straightforward and well thought out, even for someone doing it themselves. The instructions were clear, logical, and easy to follow step by step, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free.

Once installed, it worked exactly as expected right out of the box. Solid design, intuitive setup, and excellent guidance throughout. Highly recommend if you're looking for a smart thermostat that's simple to install and use.

Great Thermostat – Easy Install, Clear Instruction

It took several days of playing around with the software to get the thermostat to perform the way I wanted it to. The website is not that helpful, but it will get you through the basics. If you're not inclined to dealing with many software menus, nor fully understand your HVAC system, you may want to avoid this thermostat.

Software Not Great

This product was old and used. I thought that I was buying a new one. I'm returning it!

Smart thermostats are a waste of time and energy. For minimal benefit (savings is nonsense), you get to control it with your phone. That's about it. In return, you'll restart it monthly (I have 2) for no reason, it will randomly disconnect from your wi-fi, your sensors will loose connections, again randomly, and their batteries will need to be changed 3-4 times a year. The old cheep manual thermostats work perfect, set 'em and walk away. Smart thermostats are a reminder of a bad decision I'm stuck with.
