Setup process is clear and simple with instructions.

The design and layout of the packaging is quite satisfying. It's beautiful to say the least. The instructions to do a DIY install are extremely easy to follow and accurate. I did find that my screw anchors were quite snug trying to fit into the hole size recommended and they needed a little encouragement. I screwed the screw into the anchor and then used a hammer to set it into place. Then backed the screws out all the way to continue with the install. That was the only hiccup I had with installation. 
The setup through the thermostat/app? Flawless. I even submitted my AC Rewards Rebate (through Xcel Energy, my electric provider) directly through the Ecobee app in about 15 seconds. Great perk! It looks beautiful on my wall with the back plate included in the packaging and the thermostat itself. Hopefully, it runs my AC/Heat as efficiently and as well as it was to install and set up! We've had the ecobee for both of our units for approximately a week. Easy installation. The programming is working properly. Seamless functionality from device or phone app. We have been very pleased. Very happy with our purchase.

Great upgrade

I have been quite pleased with the device.  It is quite attractive and somewhat remarkable with what it can do, especially when combined with Alexa.  I installed it myself, and it was not too difficult for someone with minimal electronic understanding.  There were numerous videos on utube with wiring instructions. The phone support was very good and resolved a few issues I had with with getting started.  I would buy this product again.

Quite pleased with the device

This is my second ecobee. I bought a second after moving homes. I like the ecobee over the nest because it serves my data nerd side. I like that you can see running data via the online dash board. Not to mention its remote control and smart features like away mode.

Best thermostat on the market.

I just replaced a pair of Nests with the ecobee Smart Thermostat.  One of the Nests constantly told me my "R" wire was disconnected and Google/Nest did nothing about it.  The Nest has never displayed any error message.

Setup and configuration are much easier and faster, the learning algorithm is much more accurate, and although this is personal - I think the user interface is more attractive and usable.

Better than the Nest in every way

We struggled to keep certain rooms to temperature but with the room sensors this is no longer a problem! Wish we would have made the change to this device sooner!

Unit seems to be working fine.  Would have liked a bit more information on your website about the wiring requirements of the unit.  A bit more difficult than anticipated.

Ecobee

This is a great thermostat. It came with one remote sensor and it is expandable.  It is easy to setup and get operating.  We are still learning some of the features, like the voice control..

Can't get a receipt for online purchase - no receipt no rebate- never buy here

Have had for about 3 months and found the Thermostat works as designed.  Works with Alexa perfectly.  Then at 1 month, you get eco+ added to allow additional features.  This software is horrible.  Over 3 weeks working with Tech support, they had to escalate to eco+ tech support who I believe, is non existent.   I cannot use eco+ as i cannot disable the Community Energy Savings features (even though I never signed up for it), thus I cannot use the other 4 features of this addon.  Normal tech support is slow to respond but eco+ I don't think exists.  Trouble leaving here ok should be their motto.

Thermostat Great - Support Not So Great

Without voice controls it isn't much better than a regular thermostat.  The call to support was useless.  When I explained my concern the reply was that “we know there is a problem”.  There is also a problem at certain temps, where it turns on the air/heat and then off and then off again and again.
