Frame

I had one of these many years ago and must have given it away since I haven't done counted cross stitch for 20 years. I was so happy to find this frame again. It's easy to put together and well made. Keeps my fabric nice and taut for stitching. Being able to sit on the bottom part makes it so easy to use. Would highly recommend.

Easy to put together. Yes, the screws have a square underneath the head, but it plays no part in securing or putting together this item. Just place in the holes and tighten to butterfly, and all goes together nicely.

It Goes Together Perfectly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really having a lot of pain in my hand from holding my crosstitch frame and when I saw this one I had to order it!!!  It's great!!!  I dont have to support a heavy project and frame with one hand anymore!!!   No more pain!!!  I highly recommend it!!!

Easy to set up and use.  Makes my needlepoint more enjoyable and  comfortable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a nice frame. Seems sturdy. Easy to put together. Wood wasn't as smooth or sanded as I would like. Maybe potential for splinters at some point?  Unfortunately because I'm not a thin person it won't work for me. It was too tight around my stomach and chest. I'm disappointed I'll have to return it.  Otherwise I would have liked to have used it. Seems like it would be nice to stitch on.

Nice frame but….you need to be thin to use it

My only complaint so far is that the width of fabric you can use is 16 inches. The project I want to do is 16 inches wide so I have no room for a border.

Good buy

The item was purchased from Walmart, promptly shipped and exactly as described, so no issues at all with Walmart, the seller.  The frame is made of very nice wood, well sanded and easy to assemble and it works well.  That's why I'm rating it 4 stars.  There are a few reasons that I'm not giving it 5 stars.  First:  The item description says 18" wide, which is true.  This, however, is the length of the round dowels on top and bottom, which are slit to capture your canvas for scrolling.  There was nothing in the description which said how wide a canvas will fit, but it was the widest frame I could find.   That said, you cannot fit a 16.5 inch wide canvas in the frame without working on it.  In order to fit something this wide, you need to extend the length of the slit.  I (actually my husband!) used a jig saw to accomplish this.  Second:  The description says that the frame can be rotated for access to the back.  This is true, but only if you want to mount the frame in its tallest position so that the carriage bolts in the lower extension bar do not interfere with the vertical frame when it swivels.  In order to put it at my preferred height, my husband drilled a few more holes in the upper and lower extension bars to custom fit it for me.    These two things are also true if you want to be able to rotate the frame:  1) the left side of the dowel cannot extend beyond the left edge of the vertical frame and 2) the wing nuts on the vertical frame must be parallel with the frame.  That is not difficult to accomplish, but is different than the photograph.  Third and final:  After use, the post which screws into the base loosens and tilts.  To fix this, I chose to ask my husband to install two L brackets where the base connects to the lower extension bar in order to permanently stabilize it.  Other options with screws would also work.  So, the frame has some limitations, but is nicely built and a good value.  And if you are handy, you can make it work for a 16.5 inch wide canvas, complete with a stable base and functional rotation.   I'm very happy with it now!

Nice but might require some work

The wood is not sealed or completely sanded. It's almost sanded enough, although some of the holes and edges need more. It is not sealed in any way. Before use I will need to finish sanding, clean and seal. Not what I was expecting. I think it will work as it should once I finish  it.

Needs work before it can be used.

Haven't been able to use it yet as I must go buy some sandpaper in order to get out the splinters. It is poorly finished, as no quality control on completion.

I'm still looking forward to it solving my problems, but hope it does work out after I fix it.

Embroidery stand

The upright won't attach to the seat board. It's not a screw in. It has threads a short ways but four sharp points extend down to block everything. I tried hammering it so the points would embed in the would. Nope. Total trash. I'll be returning it to my local store.

Impossible to assemble-upright to seat board.
