Unfortunately, 2 of the shelves were broken at the edges. I went ahead and kept it because it was only about 1" x 6" and I think the shelves will still hold up. This is my only complaint. They are particle board, so just know this might happen to your box too. The shelf unit, however, seems very sturdy. It was amazingly easy to put together! Just have a mallet on hand.

All pieces were in package. Took a minute to figure out the directions but went together easily just using a rubber mallet. Pleased with the quality. Heavy Duty.

The package is heavy, but manageable. The instructions state no tools needed, but a hammer and a slat of wood to pound the shelf suport pieces into place does help.
It is easier to assemble the bottom, middle and top shelves first for stabilization, then add the
in-between shelves. I found that when attaching the top vertical corners to the bottom it was easier to attach a set of short side shelf suports to the top vertical corners about a third of the way up to give them some stabilization. Once attached the suports can be removed or moved to desired height and finish out the shelf.
I Love how much stuff can be stored in a 6'X9' room. I bought 4 units, and had all of them assembled and in use in less than 24 hours.

Fairly easy to assemble, one person can do it.

I was amazed at how much of an improvement this storage rack could bring to my room. I live with 5 other people and space is an issue so I needed to find vertical shelving units to place my belongings on. This unit has the ability to be horizontal or vertical depending on your needs. I was able to put it together in an hour, the help of another person was needed.
Easy to build, feels like legos in a sense but it is durable. The manual said it could hold 4,000 (not sure about it but it may) pounds all together and I was able to stand on a wood shelve during construction and it hardly bent down (155). I was able to place my tvs, gaming consoles, sound systems and storage containers on it; this unit made my room look alot better and cleaner.

The only concerns I have are the vertical mounting beams are two on top of each other and they can be loose during construction so build this unit in the room you will use it in. Don't try to carry it into a room, and put the shelving units in last if you are going to move it.

Overall $80 to have space to enjoy my room and be able to have space for everything is amazing. Well worth the money if you need storage for any home or small business. Would buy in the future if I decide I need more storage units in my own apartment or home.

Perfect for the College Student

These shelves are very sturdy. I bought 2 and decided they are so sturdy, to buy another one to replace another shelf that is wobbly. These are also so easy to adjust the shelf placement too. Only down fall is - for my purposes, I am short one level on each unit. Wish there was a way to buy an additional shelf without having to buy another entire unit. If there was I would buy 3 shelves if it was a savings in comparison to buying another unit and having extra pieces laying around.

Great and sturdy shelves.

This is the 3rd set of Muscle Rack shelves I've ordered this summer so I should be a pro at assembly by now, though the others were smaller.  But they gave me a lot of TROUBLE.  It did not come with brackets to attach the top and bottom.  Even with a hammer, I can't get the nobs to stay locked in the bottom of the grooves, and this is a problem pretty much all over.  So the whole thing wobbles.  I think they cheaped out on this one.

SO I BOUGHT THESE SHELVES HOWEVER FIRSTLY THEY ARRIVED OPENED AND DAMAGED.. SECONDLY THESE SHELVES ARE MISSING A VERY IMPORTANT PIECE (4 COUPLINGS) AND THE COMPANY THAT MAKES THEM SELLS THE COUPLINGS WHICH IS A SMALL PIECE TO CONNECT THE TWO DIFFERENT PIECES OF METAL FOR 40$ FOR A 4 PACK.

GREAT SHELF BUT PLEASE BE AWARE

I've bought these shelves about this time last year and to be honest, I couldn't praise them enough! Unfortunately these “same” shelves I just received are not the ones from last year.

I'll cut right to it. Last year they came with joining bracket to connect two tiers of shelves. Now the instructions just say to use the shelving brackets to connect them. This instantly turns this set up from a one person job to a three person hassle, so three stars lost.

Unless things change I'm looking to a different company for my shop shelves next time.

Cutting corners...

Can you market a shelf as being 72" tall if there's no actual way to make it 72" tall within the package? I thought my package was missing pieces, but then I checked the product page. "What's Included? 8 posts, 10 braces, 10 beams, 5 shelves; Post couplers NOT INCLUDED" Indeed, the very element that's needed to make this a 72" shelf is not included as stated in the product description. The item needed is a 4" coupler that locks together the upright posts. If I didn't have extras from another project, I don't know what I would do. Probably return it. Just FYI, the "Muscle Rack Post Coupling Outer Black (4 Pack) $15.00" are available on Walmart.com, but are out of stock. Good luck making a 72" shelf without them. Other than that, it's four stars and will get the job done.

Buyer Beware - No Couplers!

I'm really disappointed and mad with purchase the guy was dragging the box and the are missing parts. The 4 couplers that unite the bottom post to the top post. Therefore how I'm I suppose to assemble my rack. I've bought others shelves and they all bring the brackets or couplers. Also particle board shelves are broken all the corners.
