<p>Gable vents work to provide ventilation, releasing stagnant air, preventing damage from humidity and optimizing temperature control. Gable vents are particularly useful during the summer months when hot air rises and is trapped in the attic, where it can transfer itself down through the ceiling and back into the level below, decreasing the effectiveness of air conditioning systems. A gable vent is located at the attic area, commonly on the exterior wall where the two planes of a sloping roof join, forming a triangle. While not a thick and heavy original like the ones I was replacing, from 20 feet away it looks perfect.  I guess 28 inch round openings have been a standard for over 100 years.  I ended up purchasing 5 of them.  I have photos but the file size is too large to allow me to insert one or more of them.

GOOD PRODUCT, WELL DETAILED AND FINISHED. WAS A LITTLE SOFTER (LESS DENSE) THAN EXPECTED. WOULD LIKE OPTION OF METAL MESH IN LIEU OF FIBERGLASS SCREEN ON BACK, OR OPTIONAL BOTH. MATTE PRIMER EASILY STAINED BY HANDPRINTS.

PERFECT LINES AND NICE LIGHT WEIGHT.DEFINITELY WOULD BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN.

Ordered this vent to add to ventilation on a rear gable. The vent was well made and a snap to install. It looks great painted and installed. Very highend!

Had to turn the item to 27 1/4 in diameter but it came out very good and blends in with the the other vinyl cladding applied to house.
