First thing that drew me to this dish set was the beautiful colors that matches my pan set and the rack they "live on". Since they are also displayed while not in use the design, color, and durability was important to me. Next thing that drew me in was the shape! I was going for something more on the unique side of things and these dishes have that. On my hunt, I was looking for specific criteria (which sounds a little silly for some kitchen dishes) but it is harder than you think to find the combination of  8 plates (4 large and 4 smaller), 4 bowls, and 4 mugs! This was one of the very few I found that had the package I was looking for. We do not own a microwave or dishwasher so those qualifications played little into my decision but they did need to hold up to a busy, hungry household with 6 children (plus the extras they bring), 2 adults (with one not being as "gentle" with the finer things lol), lots of guests, and frequent washing. These dishes do feel a bit more on the fragile side of things and it took some time to "get to know them" with use and handwashing. They hold up nicely to silverware as well. Thankfully, they do automatically come with a 30-day warranty, which is great, and if you review the set for the company on their website (or here), they extend that to a year warranty. Generous, but they have yet to respond to me (I did that first review for the warranty on their page) about a cracked mug. It did not come cracked, that was part of life, but I did reach out with no response regarding the possibility of a replacement (because I LOVE this set of dishes and have had it about 2 months so it still feels new to me). I am hopeful to hear back soon though. Aside from that and a few very minor imperfections of the dishes (things that are mostly unnoticeable), they are my favorite set I have own thus far and may consider repurchasing another set to add to my existing one.

I really don't think if you have kids these are the plates for you. They are heavy which I think are okay for some people. But I really like them for myself.
