Hum or hiss can be a noisy issue on pedal boards. Fuzz pedals can often be a culprit or a cheap un-isolated power supply. I am guilty of taking the cheap route myself.

The Silencer is made by one of my favorite pedal makers and I figured if it didn't work, I'd send it back.

It's not a plug in and go pedal by any means. You have to tweak The Silencer with the three dials. I found that it does work quite well with little effort.  Even with fuzz pedals.
I think it's more than worth the $57 I paid for it.
