The good: it works like it's supposed to. Does exactly what it should do. The bad is that the way its designed is highly questionable. There are 26 different wires that are simply soldered directy to the PC board that go to the transformer, the binding posts on the front, the pots, and 12 of them go to pins on TO92 packages mounted on the heat sink. Disgregarding the fact that this wiring ends up to be a complete mess no matter how careful you are, NOBODY builds things this way except as a high school electronics project because it makes it extremely difficult to disassemble for troubleshooting or repair. The RIGHT way to do it would be to use header pins on the board with a connector that plugs in. With all the cheap factory built power supplies that are much better designs than this one coming out of the east, I would not recommend this kit unless you really want to build a high school lab level project.
