I was looking for a way to transport two kayaks without losing the ability to use my tonneau cover. did not have to remove any of it to use the rack and by buying two and a little modification was able to put them together to form a very solid rack to haul both kayaks. First installation took a bit but now is done easily.

The ladder racks are stronger than expected and came in fast. I needed to modify the racks a little to make them work with my tonneau cover because it has a lip that comes over the side rails and the stop bolts were not long enough for the extra thickness.

Nice ladder racks and fast shipping

Simple setup to fit a very difficultly designed truck bed on these Nissan Frontiers! The bed floor is extremely uneven but with a couple of quick modifications to the rack bases everything worked out fine. Very nice look with the aluminum and very sturdy!

Awesome Ladder Rack!

Aluminum ramps worked well though I had to use some wood shims under the legs as mine and most truck beds are not flat. Would be nice if manufacturer included some non slip shims.

Nice racks

Although they were not designed to fit the low bed of my 98 tacoma, i was able to add a new set of holes by easily drilling through the aluminum to make them fit. They are light and strong. Very happy

Well built

I am a home inspector in the northern New York, so I like the ability to easily take the rack down for the winter. Product cane fast and it was easy to put together, the rack was cheaper here than other sites I looked at as well. Would buy from here again.

Great experience

I installed my aluminum rack in a 2010 Ford Ranger which has a factory bed liner. The bed liner had to be pulled away from the ladder racks legs to allow the feet to contact the floor of the truck bed. The bed liner is now permanently warped around the ladder rack. The shape of the truck bed would only allow for the long part of the ladder racks feet to face inward towards the truck bed. 3/4" wood shims had to be placed under the ladder racks feet and at the wall of the truck bed. Again, because of the shape of the truck bed and also to level the rack. This made the bolt at the bed wall almost to short. So I had to leave the thick lock washers off at that connection. The whole assembly is only secured with the one tightened bolt which is at the bed wall of each leg. So, I drilled (2) 5/16" dia. holes through each ladder racks foot, wood shim, and the steel truck bed and installed 5/16" -24 thread ?2" long stainless steel bolts & lock nuts. This secured the feet of the ladder rack to the truck bed. Without bolting the feet down. The rack was moving with firm tug of my hand. Kicking the feet out from under it. Imagine going down the road with no bolts in the feet with a kayak strapped to it! Universal fit. Means your going to have to universally improvise to overcome each trucks difference in design. I did manage to install it securely, but you won't find the changes you may need to do in the instructions. I think with a couple of rachet straps. It'll now hold my kayak down securely. Good Luck!

Improvised and Overcame (using for a kayak)

Quality built, sturdy, and light. It is supposed to be a clamping model/ no drill, however wouldn't have worked with my short bed 2017 Chevrolet Colorado. I drilled 2 holes in the side of each stake hole and got some 3.5 inch bolts/ nuts and is functional and sturdy.

Apex Alluminum No Drill Ladder Rack

My aluminum racks arrived on time and damage free. I was a little skeptical about putting them together but after I started they went together easily. The welds look good and everything went together without any issue. The instructions weren't bad once I understood them and it took about 30 minutes total to put both of them together. I like the adjustability of the rack width, I was able to make the rack just as wide as I needed for my kayak. I was also able to use a pool noodle to wrap the bars to protect the kayak. The tie down ring they supply that bolts into the upright frame should make securing the kayak quick and easy. These are very light and for someone with a bad back that's what I needed. Once together they install in about 5 minutes and can be uninstalled just as quick. All that is needed is a socket, socket wrench and Allen wrench. I use my cordless drill with a hexagon bit. They seem to be very sturdy once installed but that is where I only give them 4 stars. I have not used them yet. I purchased these to haul my Kayak when we have the camper in tow and we haven't been camping yet. I am impressed with them now and if they perfom as well as I think they will/should then I would have no reservations rating these with 5+ stars. I'll find out next week how it goes and if I remember I will update this review and with pictures if possible

Just what I was looking for

The anchor cleats that hook under the bed-rail are 2" to 3" short if you have a fold up Tonneau Cover or other Accessory rail along the top of the bed-rail. I had to weld a small extension to the provided anchor cleats in order for the ladder rack to be secured properly. Otherwise I love the product and everything else was delivered as promised.

Awesome Product w/ only 1-Slip Up if You Have a Bed-cover or

I bought this for my 2015 Denali. I didn't want to drill holes in my bed. The brackets wouldn't line up without making my own mounts. Not a good set up. Not going to return because I've already spent a day setting this up and don't want to spend another second on tearing this down shipping it back. Stay away
