Battery takes longer than expected to fully charge.

Can last up to 3 hours, but may drain quickly in cold temperatures.

Lid may not provide a secure seal, leading to leakage issues.

Holds a substantial amount for various activities.

Maintains steady temperature for extended periods.

In general, I am enjoying this product. It keeps my coffee warm for several hours on battery and longer time on the charger. My only disappointment is the insulation. When I put hot water, I cannot hold it comfortably. And also it doesn't maintain the heat like any other good quality mugs after the battery runs out. If I pay this much money, I also expect a good insulation. I do hope Ember solves this issue in the future for their new products.

Enjoying it, but……

Nice cup but the pro: are holds more liquid and keeps it hot. Cons: cup short and fat so it doesn't fit cup holders well and it doesn't fit the Ember car charger. Also it doesn't have the touch button to adjust temp, only can do that in the app. The mug charger still only charges the mug when empty

Nice mug.

I love it for cold mornings, but I just wish for a couple of improvements for the next version: 1) To come in a larger size (22oz would be great).  2) that it charged and kept the drink warm at the same time - while on the charger (it only keeps the drink warm and must be empty to charge). 3) had a handle 4). longer battery life (wouldn't need that if #2 was implemented)

Awesome but could use some upgrades

Ive had the V1 Travel Mug for some time. It died an early death as Embers like to do. Tried this as a replacement and it's ok but seems better suited as a kettle than a drinkable coffee mug. The larger capacity is great and really is the only redeemable quality of this particular model. Heating works as expected. But both lids leak.  The sipping lid was awful it would just leak everywhere. The handle lid was a little better but would still leak. Huge failure if you need to use this on the go at all.  Also, I did miss the physical controls on the travel mug. Having to go to the app all the time to adjust settings, check battery, etc was a hassle.

It's OK If Your Use Case Calls For It

This is my 4th Ember mug and I was excited to try this product. I spend lots of time in the car transporting kids to and from school, so the travel tumbler is useful for me. A huge disappointment is the tumbler doesn't fit in my van's cup homier. (I have a 2018 Honda Odyssey). It completely defeats the purpose of having a travel tumbler and I'm forced to hold it in one hand as I navigate interstate traffic. The tumbler works great otherwise and I'm happy with the 3 hour battery life, but not fitting in a cup holder in a standard mini van is a huge oversight on Ember's part.

Tumbler Doesn't Fit in My Van's Cup Holder

My wife likes the extra volume that this mug holds.  However, she finds it too big/heavy to use regularly as her travel/work mug.  It is also wider than the original so it doesn't fit in the side pocket of her backpack.  So she's going back to the original Ember Travel mug that she's used for years.

Extra coffee good, extra weight/size bad.

I was so disappointed to open this Christmas gift after using my 14 oz Ember mug almost every day for a year and find out this tumbler is completely metal inside!! Somehow I missed this in the description. I never would have dreamed a “ceramic mug” known company would do that. 
I never even plugged it in. Started return & right back in the box it went. I have plenty of metal coffee mugs  that I don't care to drink from vs ceramic. Gave 2 stars because, if you don't mind the tastes of coffee from metal, it's a nice container.

Metal inside, not ceramic!!

Disappointed. Does not fit in our car cup holders and cannot charge with the car charger adapter. It does not work on trips or when away from home because the battery runs out and you need the coaster with you at all times as that is the only way. It would be great if it had a usb-c charger to plug into cars or battery packs. It also is not insulated and is hot to touch. I wanted to love it as we love our mugs and travel mug but couldn't due to all these issues. Sent back for refund.

Great size but an overall flop

The good news is Ember finally came out with a 16 oz tumbler.  However the bad news is there is no infrastructure to support this new tumbler:

1. No step up holder to support the tumbler fitting into an auto cup holder.
2. No auto charger to keep the tumbler charged.

Ember should have held off releasing this tumbler to market until these gaps were closed.

The design and the look is fine. I have another Ember coffee cup, not a travel mug, and it's great! The travel mug doesn't keep coffee warm for very long. The well insulated coffee cups are much better. I recommend the Contigo or Yeti insulated cups better.
