I have used an HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 for years, but a firmware update blocked the use of 3rd-party ink cartridges, and I had no way to revert to a previous firmware version that allowed them. My printer has been hijacked by HP for good. MY OWN PRINTER PAID WITH MY HARD-EARNED MONEY!!!  HP stole it from me. After unsuccessfully seeking help to solve this issue, I decided to buy a new printer that didn't restrict my right to feed it with whatever supplies I chose.  The Epson EcoTank ET-2980 came to the rescue. It is just a fantastic printer that uses liquid-ink reservoirs.  .  The HP 9018 is MY printer, and I will do with it as I please, NOT what HP forces me to.  Oh... and also getting rid of all the rest of my HP devices too.

My husband %26 I are planning to use this printer and we had much difficulty understanding the instructions. This is a replacement printer so my old printer was still listed as the default. It took me awhile to notice that I had to put this printer as the default. 
We hope to have it for years to come.

Improvement needed for instalation  of new printer

I like many things about the printer but the tanks of ink instead of the horribly expensive cartridge system sold me on this printer. In addition, good quality printing, and a quiet setting make it a win for me. What I don't like is the lights - flashing, steady or "breathing" I want a" turn the light off" setting. Too many lights on every device everywhere all the time. Darkness , darkness please! I know that I can turn off the printer which obviously turns off the lights but I don't want to keep turning the printer on and off. Because it is a ring light around the on/off switch it is hard to cover with black tape but I a going to try.

Good Little Printer

It has been working smoothly so far, very happy with the quality of the printing and the ease of filling the ink. It was a little finicky getting it setup, especially to our laptops, the instructions to get the laptops setup felt a little unclear, but we did sort of figure it out. The only thing we still haven't figured out is how to get it to scan to our computers. The phone was easy since it had the app, but we don't really want to use our phones.

Set up was fairly easy even though I do not have a wi-fi router. I wanted to use my cheap paper for the set up but the printer will not feed it through, it jammed every time. For me, this is a minor issue as I plan to use this printer for final copies rather than drafts.  The feed  worked fine with medium quality paper.  I have only printed a few pages but so far the print quality is excellent.  
My only quibble with this printer is the wi-fi direct signal is weak so my laptop has to be in the same room as the printer to communicate. With my other Epson printer (7100 series) I can print from anywhere in the house. 
Overall, I am satisfied with this printer and do not regret the purchase.

Eco Tank Journey

I loved my last Epson printer where the paper came from the tray under the printer. This option was not available in the price range I was looking for…which was no more than 350.00. This printer is a bit more difficult to navigate through the small screen also.  I don't need large jobs printed, so it will do for my size of business.

Loved my last Epson - but this will suffice

I've only used this printer a few times. I had a little trouble connecting it to my wifi. Ended up having to move my wifi router. I think this survey should be taken in 6 months. In the meantime, thanks again for a so-far-so-good product!

Not terribly computer illiterate really having trouble setting it up  no mention of what each button does watching YouTube videos they say push this push that. How am I supposed to know this just need simple instructions for an idiot
