This is the best printer I've ever used Anna as far as expense as the cartridges. I've been using my printer for a year now and have not had to replace the cartridges yet it is a Primo. Excellent printer for home use

Fantastic printer

We spent many hours trying to get an HP printer to work that never did because it required a "non community" internet connection (our HOA includes internet).  We returned it and purchased this Epson based on reviews that said it would be easy to just hook it up and print- and it was.  Turn it on, connect the cable to make it simple, and press print.  That was it.  No hassles.

Now that my printer finally linked up to my computer it's perfect!
My laptop doesn't take a cd to install so it's by wifi.  It miraculously finally happened! Been trying to do it throughout a week.  To be fair I tried 3 or 4 different nights but it didn't take until tonight! It's everything I wanted!

My husband had been after me to get rid of our HP Printer.  I was having continued problems with it and then I had to enroll in their Instant Ink program which was a monthly fee and limited amount of pages to print.  I had owned my printer for over 3 years and now I had to pay to print.  Purchased the Epson and it was very easy to set up. Love the app as well.  Print is very clear and love the scanner option as well.

Best Printer on the Market!

Epson ET-3850 (with EcoTank) is much better and easier to use than HP cartridge printer.  Also, easy setup with tutorial.  No more buying expensive cartridges.  The Epson Driver and GUI is much better than HP's too.  I always had an issue with HP printer disconnecting from the WiFi intermittently and will need to reconnect it at times.  Epson ET-38550 drivers are more stable, and I do not have this disconnection issue.  Overall, it is a "must have" purchase to get out of buying ink cartridge and annoyance of the disconnection issues with HP printer.

Epson ET-3850 Upgrade from HP printer

I highly recommend the Epson ET-3850 to anyone who needs a printer that is a workhorse. 

It is super fast, and I love the ink tanks. They are more economical than the small, hard-to-find ink cartridges I used in my previous Epson printer. 

Another important feature for me is that the colors in this model are true to the image I want to print. There is no bluish tone to the image. Also, there is no blurring or smearing with this printer.

Using the scan feature, I can save the document to my computer as an image, a JPEG, or a PDF. This is also an important option for me.

This printer accommodates various printing media, including photo, stickers, and heavy cardstock in sizes up to  8" x 14". The high-capacity paper reduces the need to refill the tray during large print jobs. This was a high priority for me when I chose this printer.

Other nice features include double-sided printing, print preview, and collating.

I added a password that allows remote printing from my son's cellphone and my husband's laptop.

The display screen on the printer is large and easy to use.
The printer does not offer the  "quiet mode"  feature. This is not as important because the printer is so fast.

I give this printer 5 stars. 

Walmart offered the best price for this purchase. My printer arrived on time and in perfect condition.

Epson ET-3850 Printer Review

While this may be a good general home printer at its price it should be a good home office printer.  It is not.  The print quality is only okay and the copy quality is poor.  I would not recommend this for any purpose due to its high price and would not recommend for home office at any price.

You get much less than you pay for.

Highly recommend you do NOT buy.  Once waste ink pad is full you can NOT replace it. Page 219 in manual states not a user replaceable item.  Have to take it to authorized dealer!  Good luck finding and then getting raked over the coals! Printer ends up in landfill because Epson won't let you change it!

Okay but standard Epson lack of longevity

i loved it for the very short time I had it !! opened it Sept 1 and it was broke before the end of the month. techinal problem. i need this printer NOW.. thats why I paid $431.99 now i cant make copies for my sale. Very Upset 😡  i have to wait to get a new one mailed to me.

This was my worse Epson purchase. The 1 star is for the EcoTank., it does save ink and easy to fill. BUT I'm still on my 1st fill. I want to return this and get a different model. I'm sure somewhere in the fine print it points out that the control panel is a MANUAL screen non touch. I would be okay with that, if I didn't have to scroll through with the arrows for simple tasks like copy and scan. Oh, and forget about scan on the machine. I forget every time and must hit, power (to wake it up) arrow, okay, computer, okay, options are USB (don't use) or preview on computer. arrow, preview on computer, okay, comm error. THEN I remember I must use the scanner utility on the computer! The document feeder is a joke. Does not feed paper with the smallest of a bend anywhere on the edge. No 2side-2side with the ADF, manual only! Lastly the paper carriage, it miss-feeds on a regular basis with a jam or extra sheets. Overall, the unit weights and feels like VERY cheap plastic. I have used Epson for years and still like the brand, but this is not even close to products I have purchased in the past. I'm an IT guy and have bought a lot of Epson's for myself and clients. I'll toss this soon and go with anther unit more suitable for a small office. Time in use approx. 2 months
