I really wanted a printer with more than 6 colors of ink, so I bought this one.
It is the exact same model as the one I used in Japan, and I am very satisfied with its usage and the printed paper!
One more thing, I wish the ink was cheaper.

Works Well with all Peripherals

I got this mainly for photos and it does a marvelous job. People cannot believe I printed my photos at home.

Great printer

I had the 8600 printer and was satisfied with it. This one is almost the same and so far have been impressed with its colors.  I use it mostly for photo and cards and the colors are very natural and pics are very professional looking.

Amazing so far!

I bought the XP-8700 to print pictures and I am very pleased with the result and very easy to setup. Had it up and running in about ten minutes.Rick

Great features

I did good with the set up until I needed to print pictures off my IPad.  I called epson help,  the lady helped me and we set up the epson app.  That printed 6 nice pictures, then the pictures got blurry.  Bad!  I finally decided there was a problem between the app getting the pictures and printing them out.  I figured out how to print directly from the I pad photos to the printer.  Beautiful pictures.  Needless to say epson app went by the way side.  So far after a good setup,  I am very pleased.

This is replacing an old Epson CX 8400, so needless to say there is a bit of learning curve but it's almost intuitive and I've been pleased with it so much.

It's a good little printer!  The photo printing quality is very good.  The color copying quality is poor and I'm disappointed in that aspect.

Scanner mechanism was jammed and would not work. Contacted epson; Return scanner to walmart. Will buy another one. Other than that I like the design ease of use and the number of ink cartridges increased from 4 to 6
