This is working great for my mother. She has trouble lifting off the toilet. This is just the right height for her.

Keeping it safe

Getting up is hard to do... especially as one gets older. These rails are incredibly stiff and rugged, giving a solid feeling of security as you slowly raise yourself to a standing position. Full range of height adjustment. Solid traction on floor. Simple design assembles easily. Perfect!!

Bought this stand for my mom because she broke her foot. She likes it but she doesn't love it. She says it's easy to topple over if not holding it right. I can imagine if you only have one good foot to stand on. She also has one that attached to the toilet and she thinks that one is better suited for her needs. I thought the one that attached to the seat was rather wobbly but hey I'm not the person using it so her opinion is all that matters. I would recommend both the stand and the toilet attachment depending on the need to see which is best.

It's better than nothing.

I bought these freestanding bars to replace the kind attached to the toilet because that one was wreaking havoc on my toilet seat bolts.  This unit is easy to put together and it is sturdy. Those are the pluses…. 

NEGATIVES  (to me). - These bars are not width adjustable so if your plus size this might not be for you. That is the biggest negative to me. For reference, I'm 260 lbs and 5'10” tall.  I'll put this delicately…. The side rails are close so if you do your “paperwork” from behind the rails get in your way. BUT (no pun intended) the rails can easily move out of the way because they're not fixed. So that's not a huge negative but frustrating. Plus Sized people beware.

Sturdy but Narrow.

Its in the way of me walking in %26 out of the bathroom because my toilet is by the door. It's bulky, sets too far in front of the toilet, and is sometimes unstable when getting up and down. Im going to order something different and get rid of this. It sucks!
