I got it for my son's birthday who turned a seven but even my two-year-old loves it and my nine-year-old and even I play on it because it brings back my childhood memories

i got it as a retro gift 🎁  it still had a lil line but maybe i didnt shake it enough but it brought good old memories

This item has been around since I was a kid fifty years ago and it was much better quality then compared to now.  I actually bought it somewhere else as a gift and that one didnt work at all so I ordered through Walmart.  This one works but it does not seem as though it will last even a year. We had ours (as kids) for many, many years and several kids. This new one even has cosmetic damage to the frame.

Quality has gone down.

The lines drawn on this etch a sketch are very thin and light. Hard to see them and the screen is too small.

Pass on it

I have ordered several Etch A Sketches as gifts, and nearly all of them won't clear the screen after shaking.  There are "ghost images" left behind, no matter how long (or how many times) the Etch A Sketch is shaken.  There was one etch a sketch that had clunking and clicking noises when the knobs were turned.  I have returned some of the etch a sketches already, and have a couple more to return now.  Disappointing.
