I havent opened this item as of yet. Its for my 1 year old grand daughter for Christmas. She will love it because she tries to write. She has a small one but needed a much bigger one. Its an old time toy which Ive always loved.

Good gift!

Pricing is reasonable, new take on the original Etch A Sketch where a stylus is now utilized to draw, more refinement of sketching available to user.  Bought as gift for 10yr. Old grandchild.  Would recommend.

Etch A Sketch Free Style

this was our first etch a sketch, and my wife and I are totally in love with it! this thing keeps our kiddo (2.5 yrs) busy for a decently long time ~ 45 minutes or so. He goes on creating new designs, using the stamps and the stylus and then comes over and narrates his thoughts as a story. Goes back and repeats this exercise again. The rainbow colors are giving his imagination a different look/feel and I think is one of the key things that is keeping him this engaged. The only challenge we've faced with it – erasing the drawing. Its not as easy, you have to keep on shaking the board and just hope that it actually clears out. My son hasn't been successful in clearing the board, so we always have to do it for him – and it takes us a few minutes. Overall great product, could have been made better by simplifying the erasing mechanism. I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.

keeps the kid busy

It's great for the car or on plane rides but it is VERY difficult to get it to erase after drawing on it.

It's okay

This would have been awesome except you have to shake it to clear it out.  After maybe a dozen uses, it no longer clears.  I have shaken this thing every direction and way possible

Broke after a few uses

Choose a product that doesn't require batteries.  At first the colors are exciting.  However, the cardboard backgrounds are easily lost or damaged.  This product has less drawing space.
