For a water based product, it does a remarkable job of dissolving oil, rust, and other crud on steel tools. I'm using it in conjunction with a small sonic cleaner, which speeds up restoring stainless steel sockets and small tools to near new condition within a matter of an hour or less.

Very dependable.  It removes rust without damaging the underlying metal.  My steel legs for my champagne bucket had rusted over the years, and as usual, CRC restored them to a lustrous finish.

Best rust remover

I am always pleased when a product exceeds expectations. The first shipmemt arrived damaged as Fed Ex decided to toss the box out of the truck.  Walmart quickly sent a replacement.  I was able to save most of the first shipment in a bucket and brought it inside. The directions state temperature should be above 65.
I put some rusty tools in the bucket and saw that it was working after an hour or so. I decided to be patient and let everything sit overnight or longer. The results were so good I grabbed every rusty thing I could find: snips, files, loppers, pruning shears. Many of the tools were my father's 40 years old or more. 
Even after the liquid turned dark it is still working. The bonus is its safe to work with and dispose of. 
Very pleased. Also thanks to Walmart for a quick replacement of the damaged product.

Never thought removing rust would be fun.

Used Evapo -Rust  to remove rust from a very rusty old car gas tank. I drained the gas, cleaned the tank, and poured a whole gallon of Evapo-Rust  into the tank. Over about 3 days I propped up the tank on each side so that the Evapo-Rust covered all areas for at least 8 hours each. When I was finished there was still a very small trace of rust but no where near what I started with.  At the end of the 3rd day I strained the used Evapo-Rust through cheesecloth ( a huge number of iron chunks filtered out) and still use it today on other rusty stuff. Great, safe product.

It works

This is an amazing product.  I have now used it on a number of rusted tools and pieces (with over 100 years of rust) and in each case they come out looking like the just came from the factory. Just drop them into the solution, forget about it for a day, come back and scrub them off with a steel wool soap pad, and magic. It is one of the few products that has lived up to or exceeded it's advertised claims. The first time you get results, you'll think you're dealing with the "Dark Arts." Great stuff!

Works like magic!

This stuff works great to clean up rust.  Follow the instructions on the website for how to clean up metal and you will enjoy the results.  The big key is don't just leave it on cast iron, as since it works on iron, you do not want pitting.  I followed that and was able to get my 'new' 1974 drill press all perfect and back to near new condition.

Bought this to remove surface rust from a used vehicle I bought to restore and flip. Did a great job removing surface rust from items. Heavy rust area's will need a wire brush to help remove it. Simply spray the liquid onto the rusted area and let sit for a while then wipe clean or wire brush it off.

Sayonara Rust

This stuff REALLY works- the best I've ever seen.  Works without any effort on your part- no scrubbing or scouring, just soak the item in the solution and in a few hours- or less- it makes even heavily rusted items look like new.  It doesn't restore pitted areas, but it does remove the rust.  Certainly worth the money.

Started with Vinegar and baking soda which works as DIY to remove rust. Bought this and yes it took all the rust away as well.

This stuff is fantastic. I'm restoring a 1979 Corvette. It cleans up the bolts, nuts, screws, brackets and anything else that has rust issues I've tried it on.

The best I ever had!

I have a bottle of Rust Aid that I used in comparison.  Soaking my rust spots with Evaporust did not get rid of rusts spots on my pool deck.  Rust Aid worked.  Evaporust has a yellowish liquid.  Rust Aid is clear so you really don't have to rinse it for small spots like you do for Evaporust.
