My granddaughter, 5 years old, really enjoys the Ever After High Secret Hearts Diary. It is quality built. Make sure you remind your little one not to put the diary key inside the book and close it. It will lock and it is not easy to open. It can be open, I didn't do the opening. My son spent time figuring it out. I will get back with details. Just beware.

This item was a Christmas gift for my little girl and she was very happy with it. Confidentiality assured. Works with the sound of the voice. However, in English only, the person or someone around him or her must be able to help him or her, if necessary.

My daughter has gotten a lot of pleasure from this toy. She played a lot with the voice recognition feature. She has also enjoyed writing her own personal notes on slips of paper and storing the notes inside.

Big Winner with My 12 Year Old Daughter

My daughter loves this product. She feels like she's part of a secret club, it's a joy to see her feeling all grown up. The only downfall is the spoken password isn't recognized even though she says it the same way everytime. It takes up to 3-5 times for it to recognize her voice and open. She still loves it though, so we're satisfied :)

Happy Child

My little girl speaks with perfect English and she has no 'accent' of any kind but the voice recognition responds very poorly to her voice password instillation. It's been very disappointing and frustrating for her. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this toy at all.

Poor Voice Recognition

First of all I thought I was buying a regular diary with a lock. That's what my daughter wanted (my fault). The voice recognition that's supposed to open the lock is useless. I can only get it to work about 10% of the time so my 8 year old daughter doesn't stand much of a chance. She has to use the reset button to open it every time.
