My soil is low damp black soil that has a high water table so I seed the area in July as there is always adequate moisture. I first spray the area with roundup and then pull a single 4ft. section
of fine drag behind my 250cc four wheeler and set it at various depths to rough up the ground and drag some of the straw clear from the foliage the roundup killed. I broadcast 25 lbs of lime and 50 lbs of 10-10-10 fertilizer.

Spread the fertilizer and lime and then work it into the soil. Then broadcast 10lbs of Throw n Grow and then drive over the area with the four wheeler to "tamp" down the seed. That is it.
Food Plot is 150'x40' in wooded area in northeast Wisconsin. Draws a lot of deer over a season. Sometimes it is mowed down like a golf course already by Mid-November.

Grows fast once it takes root, which in my sandy soil of northern WI was about 10 days. Deer seem to love it. Downside is, it's mostly rye grass and is an annual plant, not perennial (says my plant "expert"...my wife), so it won't be back next spring unless I replant more at that time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live off grid I have no vehicle and these products get to my door or mailbox in timely manner. Without it I would not be able to live off grid on my land. After my parents passed I moved here. Illinois river ranch area.

Used it for our chicken coop. Our birds can't free range anymore due to predation, so we've extended the run and started throwing this to keep grass in it. It works great! My only complaint is that it doesn't come in bigger quantities and it's always sold out in-store.

I can't make a fair review so far , I just sowed it 2 days ago and the area that I sowed it is over 30 miles away , so I would have to give a fair review in as many weeks now as it takes to start growing !

I purchased this Evolve throw and grow for a back yard plot. I did exactly what the directions said and it seems only part of the food plot is growing, it's very spotty with growth. I feel it should have been growing a lot better by now.

Hard to grow

No grass came up. The stuff did not work.

Waste of money

I threw this out 4 weeks ago.. Its rained several times.. No growth in sight.. Maybe its just the land I have but its no growth.. Now the deer did eat a good bit but there was plenty to see just sitting with no growth..
