I've been using Fram oil filters for almost 50 years on every vehicle owned. Granted, I do purchase car manufacturer brands when on sale (rare) but I keep a stock of Frams as well. Excellent filtering protection that has been instrumental in my vehicles hitting the 350K mile marks time and time again. Yeah, a good oil partner helps but these filters hold their own against the more expensive brands .

Engine oil Filtering Protection

walmart.com

filters only filter till they fill up then your car has a bypass valve to let oil flow, buying the best isnt always the best, fram works fine I have over 300,000 miles on 2 cars with fram..use Mobil 1 full synth too" change your filter not your oil. 3,000 miles oil 9,000 miles..

Live Long and Prosper"

As I'm using Mobil 1 oil, I need a "better grade" filter to ensure my oil will be ok up to 7,000 miles. I could go longer, but with less driving now, and shorter trips, I really need to change the oil.

Short trips are especially hard on engines, as the motor doesn't get a chance to get up to operating temperature. A cold engine is less efficient, burns more fuel and likely has more deposits. Short trips also contribute to moisture build-up inside the engine and oil. Moisture reacts and can acidify, causing wear and etching and degrade the viscosity. So, using a good, high performance filter, like Frams' Extra Guard will help remove dirt that can build up and create sludge.

I'm just a Shade Tree mechanic and have been changing my own oil since I started driving about 46 years ago. I've read a fair amount about oil, filters, change frequency, etc. and feel confident to recommend Frams' filters for any application, other than say, aviation. Although they probably are OK there too.

Lubricate the entire rubber gasket on the connecting side (top of filter) with a small amount of fresh oil before installation.

Make sure that the old rubber filter gasket did not come off and adhere to the contact point of the vehicle, before installing a new filter. They sometimes stick to metal. Just check the old filter to make sure it is still on it.

Tighten hand tight! Do not tighten with an oil filter wrench as you may have problems later getting it off.

Watch a youtube video or two if you are new to this.

Do NOT overfill with oil. Add just the right amount, no more. Keep an eye on your oil level and check it often. Never let it get LOW.

Walmart offers these at a great price, so I usually order several. Thanks Walmart!

I would recommend this filter and would buy it again.

This review is my own opinion and I did not receive anything for my review.

Thanks!

Great value, works perfectly, recommend. Buy it!

[Employee of walmartcanada] Very happy with the purchase of this filter. This is what I have been using for my car once a year. There is no complaint about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used it in the past and worked good. Looked around and couldn't find it but Walmart had it and saved me from having to use a product I am not familiar with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The prices for the items I purchased were cheaper than the auto part stores that I would normally go to. They even have a preferred brand that I cannot get at the parts store anymore.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got what I ordered, and it was sent promptly for a fair price. (It's a little hard to say if it's good or bad until 10,**** miles have passed!)

I performed an oil change on my 2017 Mazda 6 and I've always used Fram filters for many years. I will continue to purchase my car needs and other products through your Walmart app. Thank you.

Fram oil filter PH6607

frame oil filters are still ones i buy unless i can get a deal on other brands. and at Wal mart its a good price. and as for regular driver the PH grade with 10k mileage rating plus good with syn oil can good wrong.

good deal

Be cautious when ordering this product online! I ordered this filter online because the website said it was not available in store. I was buying it for my Kubota tractor and the cross reference chart said it was a match. An OEM Kubota filter costs over $20.00 so I was not surprised this filter was also that much. I went into the store to buy oil the same day I ordered the filter and found this filter was only $5.88 in store. Not only does it fit tractors, it also fits Nissan cars. The vendor that sells this on the Walmart website is taking advantage of people by overcharging. Learn from my mistake and be careful what you are paying.

Caution when purchasing online
