Cover

Very happy with the heated dog mat. It doesn't use a lot of electricity, but heats ups nicely. My cats and small dog took to it immediately (couldn't get them off it). My large dog who I bought the mat for since he has short hair, a rottweiler mix, layed next to it for about two weeks, wouldn't lay on it. Finally he gave in, and is on it every night now, nice and toasty. I use it inside on the floor next to my bed.

Only negative is you have to plug it in and unplug it by hand, no on or off switch. Kind of a pain since my plug is behind my night stand.

Large size heated dog mat

I like to keep these for my dogs during the winter. Especially my lab who is 11 years old. They are rugged and temperature controlled. I have never had the cord chewed. My puppies LOVE them!
They are a bit pricey, but worth it because they last for years. However, be aware that this is not the soft pad. It is hard plastic. So, even though it is not recommended, I do put a blanket over it.

Great for winter

My 2 dogs are getting older and when it gets cold out in New England, it can sometimes get REALLY cold! I wanted something to keep them a little warmer. The dogs took no time in realizing that they would like the warmth of the mats! I wasn't sure what to expect, but these are a hard plastic with a heating element inside them, covered by a thin "fleece" adhered with a strap around the four corners. These old dogs are

Very Helpful, Durable

This was a heating pad for a dog house. It is just what I needed to keep an old dog warm.
It works great.

I ordered one day and received next day, AWESOME

This product did not work out for me. I did not feel it gave off enough heat and the pad is very hard. I have a 65 pound dog which stays outside and did not feel it would be very accomondating. Maybe best for an indoor dog.

Item seemed ok but didn't fit my dog house.

Nightmare to return

Never used. Returned. Sturdy plastic with covered cord seemed ideal but for use on concrete floor only.  Bought for doghouse with plywood/carpet floor. Not for use with extension cord. Only included cover may be used No other blanket. Did not suit my needs.

Pros

the plastic that this is encased in is brittle, probably shipping damage but several places around the edge were damaged and cracked. I don't think it makes it unserviceable, but it definitely could be better.

The mat is hard plastic, the cover is a very thin material and is held by straps that are weak at best.
The mat heats when it senses weight and if you dog is not heavy enough it does not turn on.
I wish I had not bought this unit.

Heated Pet Mat

I was very disappointed in the product and I returned it. The picture on the box for the Large dog is deceptive--it shows what looks like a Lab, but the large is only big enough for a medium sized dog. In addition, the dog bed is hard plastic and comes with a cover that is about the thickness of a towel--not at all comfortable for a dog--and the instructions say not to put any other pad on it or the product won't perform.
