Smell

This air purifier is so quiet that I don't even notice it is on. As soon as I turn it on, within a minute I feel the difference in my breathing, I feel the air is so fresh like I am in mountain area that has pure and clean air. It is so well worth to buy this product. Fresh clean air to breath can prevent me from sickness, particularly when people around me have cold and the room has no good air circulation, this air purifier will surely help.

A great and quiet air purifier. I work in a busy physicians office and we have this running in my work space and its so quiet you dont even know its on.

A great product

Thisi s the best product I could have ever purchased as far as cleaning the air around me. I work in a building that was built around the 1950's and in saying that there is some type of mold or other allergen that is submitted through the air system. I know this product works because today while sitting at my desk, the air around me changed. I started coughing and just as that happened this machine (my new best friend) changed colors to alert me to the change. I had to leave the area until I could stop coughing.

Life Saver

I bought this for the tiny office lobby that I work in and its the perfect size. It operates quietly and efficiently, in that the light changes color to let you know when its having to work a little harder to clean the air. Its unobtrusive, its easy to operate. The one thing that I would change are the instructions, to say WHY is it changing color and how does that affect the air. Just a smidge more explanation would have been super. Upon reading online, I figured it out however. I would buy this again for another room.

quality product

What I like about this product is that it's quiet enough on it's lower fan settings (level 2 of 4) to watch tv with it in the same room, and that I can take it into my bed room (the handle is convenient to lift it with) over night and set it to the higher fan setting (level 4 of 4) and still sleep easily. I think it's reasonable that a fan on it's higher setting will be more audible, but I wouldn't say it's noisy. Plus I like the sound of a white noise when sleeping, and I find the sound on this product to be comforting, rather than any kind of noisy or rattling sound (and it's not really the fan that makes the sound, it's more the air moving through the unit). I think that if a fan is not more audible on a higher setting, then it's not being very effective at moving the air adequately; I think in reality, an effective fan will make a louder audible sound when on a higher setting. So for me this product balances being quiet enough on a low setting (and still move the air in the room effectively), with out being noisy on a higher setting. 
Other features that I like:
- I like that the air intake is on both sides, rather than on the back, so that it can circulate the air better. 
- the touch controls are a light touch, rather than a firm press that clicks (I think they operate with heat sensors from the temp of your fingers)
- It has a modern contemporary design to it
- I can use the auto fan setting (which usually choses level 2 of 4) or I can over ride that and chose which level to set the fan at
- I called the customer service number to get an explanation as to why the sensor light changes from blue/amber/red, and the person I spoke to was very helpful and friendly
- the fact that they have an easy to reach customer service says to me they are willing to stand behind their product
- and I like that the button colours are blue, cause I just like blue :-)

Fan of the fan!

We have the 190 and the 290 in our home and they are the best. Air and various odors are perfect, without a doubt they are #1 in our book for filtration. Don't pass these up if you want the best.

outstanding product

We've only had it a week, but we notice the smells are less than before using. Haven't had any chance to see anything longterm yet, but so far it's been great.

Great product

It seems to be reducing the amount of dust that is around - although this is in a very large space so it is difficult to tell. My dog brings in a bunch of dust from outside and with it being winter in Florida and very dry, the dust is incredible. But it does seem to be working in reducing the amount of times i have to clean. I must say it operates very quietly, which from previous reviews I really like.

Works well and is quiet

This is a defective machine. Whatever air is coming out of this thing gave me a horrible headache within minutes. I have purchased new filters before with another brand that also gave me a headache, but nowhere close to how bad this one is. I couldn't an't even let it run to see if it got any better. I saw other reviews with this same complaint so the manufacturer should rethink whatever technology or chemicals they are treating the filters with. IF it's the filter.

This "air purifier" gave me a splitting headache.

This air purifier was really loud and it made a weird ticking noise & it had a horribleness chemical smell. We bought this one and a Honeywell one to compare the two and hands down the Honeywell was better. We returned this one.
