I bought this fisher price laugh and learm drum for my son who is 10 months old for christmas. He loves it! It comes with a perfect for baby-gripping drum stick and even has a place to hold it when not in use. The deum stick rattles which my son loves to shake as well. The drum also has a grib handle on the other side for carrying around. There is a music setting and a 123 settimg. Both settings involve music and singing as it lights up different colors. Cute catchy little songs that my baby dances to as he hits the drum. The colors change- green, red, blue, light blue, yellow, purple. It also has two volume options and an off setring which i love becausw some toys you cant turn off. It took 3 aa batteries on the bottom of drum. This has held his attention very well and cant be beat for the price! My two year old daughter even loves to play with it and counts with the drum on the 123 setting. Great buy!!

Awesome toy! But...

Got this for my 7 month old son. it was a bit smaller than expected but he loves it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Tap & Teach Drum has two modes and two volume settings. The first mode is the music mode which has recognizable songs like "If your happy and you know it" and "Bingo" but tailored for the drum. My son recognized and immediately enjoyed the fact that the songs are sung by his favorite fisher price character, the Smart Stage Puppy. The second mode is the learning mode where you learn numbers 1 through 10 with each tap of the drum. My son absolutely loves this toy. Although he used the rattle to bang the drum a few times, he favors to use his hands bongo style. He uses the rattle to shake and make noise as separate instrument. 
Pros:
- Great content of music, song and learning
- Big area on top of drum that triggers lights and sound easily
- The lights hold my sons very short attention span longer than most toys, he loves to get that feedback from tapping away on the drum

Cons:
- The soft volume setting is too low to hear over the tapping of the drum when using the drumstick, however, if using hands it's not a problem.

I highly recommend this toy, and see my 9 month old playing with it for years.

This Drum Is An Instant Hit!

This is a good toy for our ten month old but I am very confused about the lyrics for the song "Tap along and march with me" (there is an incredibly innapropriate sounding word).

Love the toy and my daughter loves it as well. But one song definitely sounds like froggy t*ts and monkey toots haha. Everyone hears that when it's played

Awesome toy odd song

My daughter loves this drum and uses it daily. However, I would ask that Fisher Price alter the “March with me” song, as the words run together and make it sound crude (froggy t*ts). Everyone in my family that has heard the song hears the same thing and it's a little disturbing.

Great Drum;Bad Song

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My ten month old loves to (surprise!) bang on things and dance to music, so I thought this drum would be perfect for him.  He took to it right away, and enjoys the light up feature and the music. But! His favorite feature is actually the drumstick and its holster. The oversized drumstick is perfect for his little hands, and he'll spend twenty minutes straight taking it out of the holster and trying to put it back by himself. This momma appreciates the encouragement to develop his motor skills, and well, the drum is pretty cute, too!
